This. The right move would have been for all countries would have been to isolate people at risk (mainly old people) and let everyone else continue their life as normal. Covid -19 is almost completely harmless if you're young and healthy. It's insane that we have destroyed hundreds of thousands of businesses around the world, made hundreds of millions of people unemployed, set back the growth of the world economy 2+ years etc. just so a couple of 75 yo boomers can have another 5-10 years to live.
