What happened to stuff like Lodoss War, Majutsushi Orphen, Berserk, Bastard, ect? Does modern manga just not do that anymore? I've given up on anime, but it seems like even in manga its vanishingly rare. What gives?

Unlike most people complaining about "what happened to x", the loss of normal fantasy in favor of JRPG-esque or just isekai is the way things are now. Standard fantasy is pretty much gone.
