You can make a case that she subconsciously manipulated him, as he was shown happiness for the first time since Aki died. Then again it could just be anything a good friend would do and Denji is mind fucked.

It's interesting how you've got 'Aki is dead' and talks about the inheritance, stuff they've bought, pretty disinterested stuff etc and then 'I killed Aki' and bam puke, feeling like shit and so on. This was pretty gloomy, I feel for Denji.
I love when stories get the aftermath of a death right, it's only a chapter, but you really feel how much Aki's death is weighing down on Denji right now.

Also knowing that Makima's the control devil now I'm not even sure if Denji's doing any of this of his own volition.
It's starting to re-contextualize all of her actions for me now.
