Do you prefer shounen or soft seinen?
Do you prefer shounen or soft seinen?
The one not for pedos
What separates a soft-seinen from a shonen?
>Do you prefer an actual masterpiece like One Piece or the Rick and Morty of shounen that's also cancelled?
How is this a question?
Insecurity
Depends on if the author is a pedophile or not
Can i get a explanation of what thats supposed to mean i live in a rock and dont actually follow any of the studios or anything
Shounenshit is the endless repackaging and rebranding of the already warmed-over comic book imitation of the monomyth; packed to the mind-numbing brim with hollow characters, incoherent attempts at thematic resonance and didactic social commentary. Since it is, at its heart soulless, it can only operate at the level of sensuality (violence and sexuality.) Ironically, since it is a corporatized and intellectually bankrupt form of entertainment, it cannot even momentarily leave the confines of its own unimaginative roots and thus it fails even to titilate, never making anything really libidinal or thrilling though that's all it will ever be good for.
Transcending this bankrupt genre is soft seinen. Its discursive approach never leaves its foot stuck in the mud of convention. Because of this honest ethic of writing without corporate influence, the soft seinen mangaka imparts a greater thematic resonance than anything that could be consciously affected. Not only this, it revives the wonder of literature as you discover along with the creator "the things more important than what you want." Yes, one can hope that soft seinen (with Hunter x Hunter being the champion of this meek but worthy type) is the future for manga.
One is for gay dumb little kiddies and the other is for manly mature badass connoisseurs like myself
>wanna fuck someone older than you
shonen
>wanna fuck someone younger than you
soft seinen
yeah act age is sof seinen
seinen
Why does Gon look so shitty?
Like a bootleg anime character you see in chinese knock off merchandise sold in Mexican Chruch carnivals.
Looks like a Deku rip off
If elitists like it or not
Hunterfags sure do have more time to make console wars thread than the rest of shounen manga huh
Accept you like a Shonen, idiot
Hanta Hanta is garbage and everyone reading it is a sub 110 IQ retard.
>Togashincould ha e made actual good looking characters like Killua or Kuropika the actual MCs
>Makes his Bart Simpson knock off the MC
Soft seinen.
well it's not like they have anything to read
Kek
HxH is full of pseudo deep shit for children who want to feel smart. Togashi can't into foreshadowing and asspulled new rules each arc.
Poor souls
>HxH [HEADCANON]
Meanwhile...
Can hunterfags even pass an IQ test?
.
mental illness
No matter how much detail they out in Gon's face, he still looks like shit.
Huntertards are pathetic and Togashi's dialogues and """"themes"""" are more cringe than Naruto. Unironically.
This is a troll thread. Anybody who has replied above me has been trolled. Now that this has been posted you no longer have any excuse for replying seriously and are guilty of knowingly feeding the trolls.
Shitgekifags... we lost...
I won't defend HxH spam, but SnK unironically has been a slog to read since Marley and it especially got worse in this final arc where almost every chapter opens with another 20 pages long flashback to shit we already knew.
All HxH threads are bait threads.
Wanpissbros!? HunterChads can't stop making us kneel!
both are shonen. I like both
Soft seinen is when I like a shounen?
Shounen is when I don't like a shounen?
There no such thing as soft. HXH still classified as shounen
You forgot to mention a typical trait of a Shounenshit series is the constant introduction of new characters to the point where an excessive amount of chapters in any large conflict will be dedicated to showing off any semi popular character having a fight in an elaborate attempt to keep the bloodsport going or to filter out very marketable characters.
This is different from introducing new antagonists with new powers mind you, which most battle series must do, but when your story suddenly devolves into a baseball match where everyone in a large battle takes turns in small one on one matches that ultimately will have no influence over the greater narrative, you are 100% watching a Shounen shit. The most prominent examples of this in are the great Ninja war, every war in Bleach, and the Dressrosa of One piece.
This is not to be confused with say, the Palace Invasion Arc of Hunter x Hunter which both developed it's narrative and it's cast and all the events that occurred were required to reach the ending, in comparison to the previously mentioned arcs where all of those conflicts ultimately were decided by who had the highest power level and all the previous fights were irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
Naruto way awesome than this Gohan knock off.
A well-written criticism of shounen, but not a very convincing argument in favor of "soft seinen." Can you even define the genre? Because it certainly seems like it's just shounen targeted to a slightly higher age group. The claim that the genre is somehow free of corporate influence is particularly laughable; just like shounen, it's entertainment designed for mass-market appeal, and must therefore hew to many different spoken and unspoken conventions in order to remain in publication.
>soft seinen
aka shounen
