Kimetsu no Yaiba

Did it end too soon?
I think it had a pretty good ending but there’s still a lot of unanswered questions.

I think most of the important questions were answered, though I hope we get a Inosuke Gaiden exploring how he came up with his own breathing style.

The big one for me is the origin of the marks; it just seems a bit too mysterious still.
It also kind of bothers me that Tanjiro didn’t keep passing sun breathing down and his descendants think all of the demon stuff was fake. I get that they were fighting for a better world but it just feels weird to not pass your abilities down to make sure something like this never happens again.

No, it ended at the place where it should end.
The origin of the blue lily and how to make more Muzans is just a path towards a bad sequel.
Don't let it become like AoT

It didn't have a good ending, but I'm glad it ended were it ended.

I think for me it was just that the final arc was so long. It was unexpected considering the lengths of most of the manga’s arcs.

kimetsu was basically just following in the path of the old big 3 and just blasted through the arcs rather than extending them and repeating them forever.

The marks spread contagiously from Tanjiro, who got it because he managed to power up to 0.1% of Yoriichi's level of DotFG in RLD.

Rengoku was able to teach himself flame breathing from a manual, I'm sure Kiriya or Yushiro basically has a bunch of old film recordings and manuals in a vault if it ever needs to be recapitulated.

I loved reading the fortress arc week to week because it was just a fucking pounding hammer of intensity but I miss having comedy breathers when I read it as volumes (volume extras help). On the other hand the ending is massively better completed and marathon'd.

It felt long but somehow also short. I feel like some stuff should have been moved to other arcs like obanais backstory, and some stuff could have been added or extended like douma and kokus fight or giving different atack types for muzan, i was expecting something more OP than arm flailing. Oh and i'm still sad the biwa demon didn't play a bigger role.

I feel that there's nothing Muzan could have actually done that would've lived up to the hype.

Biwa demon should have sent demons outside the fortress to attack the headquarters. There should have been a second battle going down where the retired hashira defend HQ from incoming demon waves until the biwa UM is finally killed. Would have brought Uzui into the final battle with his wives as well as give Rengoku's dad a chance at redemption

I wish we got one more arc before the final arc to flesh out snake and wind pillar a little more, instead of just putting their backstories in the final arc.
But I am still happy with what we got. It was a fun ride.

>Don't let it become like AoT
What's wrong with Attack on Titan? It's wrapping up right now.

>The marks spread contagiously from Tanjiro, who got it because he managed to power up to 0.1% of Yoriichi's level of DotFG in RLD
I thought Tanjiro got it from his dad, who presumably had it passed down from his ancestor who met Yoriichi?

Yeah you have a point. But it could have been a bit less boring even if it was just physical atacks.

That would have been awesome! I wish i could have seen urokodaki in action too.

He learned the form of the sun breathing from his dad, but if Tanjiro's ancestors all had the mark they'd have all died at 25.

He just got a shonen near death experience powerup to unlock the mark to cut off Gyutaru's head and the marks grew from there. The Ubayashikis said it was known that the marks "resonate" between people/are contagious. The dad never got the mark, he just had an unrelated early death.

I really liked that Muzan wasn't very magical, he was a body horror monster like The Thing. That's what the hearts and brains shit was about, he's supposed to be a "rational" horror. There was still plenty more you could do with that though.

Its obvious the author wanted the invest route but he didnt had the balls to get Tanjiro and Nezuko together so he made their great grandchildren to hook up

>but if Tanjiro's ancestors all had the mark they'd have all died at 25.
Who's to say they didn't, though?

But either way works, really. Doesn't really matter in the end. The marks are a cool concept, I'm excited for the swordsmith arc just to see best girl fight and get her mark.
Do you think season 2 will include both the brothel arc and the swordsmith arc? I feel like ending the season with the Nezuko 'm-morning...' reveal would be perfect.

Lol ok buddy. Nezuko and Tanjiro have the least incest-y relationship out of all anime siblings but you can keep your headcanon.
Her ancestor doesn't even hook up with the ancestor who LOOKS like Tanjiro for god's sake.

PIGLET OVA WHEN

Attached: b5.png (472x512, 273.96K)

Hopefully soon.
I actually hope we'll have filler for this series. It's too fun.

>It's wrapping up right now.
Yeah, after 10 and a half years.
Going the aot route would have tanjiro & co fighting demons and then all of a sudden cut to them being involved in imperial government drama and Tanjiro getting ready to invade Korea

Attached: kamabokoneko.png (640x638, 313.87K)

Yeah, end of train arc to end of swordsmith village is 55-60 chapters which is about the same pace the first season did (about 2 and change chapters per episode, plus some filler scenes)

It's two big fucking arcs though

I feel like the arcs felt a lot longer bc of the fights, which will be faster in motion than on paper, right?
Especially the brothel arc. Such a long fight!

AoT is good, and the best thing about it is that it did false advertising twice to go from a violent shonen battle manga to a mystery plot to a political/military drama that could have NEVER been a tenth as successful if he'd just started there. I wrote off AoT a long time ago because I didn't like it as a battle shonen but that thinking was complete joke in retrospect.

It's really the right way to do a long runner, I dunno if anyone will be able to do another long runner that doesn't genre shift. KnY did what it set out to do very well and then got out.

>implying aot isn't getting better the more it steps away from typical shonen stuff
I think it'd be better to compare what could have become with KnY with the likes of Naruto, which was spread pretty thin by the end.
Aot is still going strong.
Also Aot is a monthly release vs weekly, so it's slower to come out.

Hbd nugget

>tfw realising that 20 years after the series ends the boys will be drafted to wwii
Tanjiro is either dead already bc of his mark, or he can probably get out of the draft bc he is blind in the one eye.
But what are the chances of Zenitsu and Inosuke committing war crimes?
imagine Inosuke dies as akamikaze pilot

I usually prefer reading rather than watching, but I saw a few pictures from an episode the other day and I think that they did an amazing job animating it.
I can definitely see how the anime boosted the sales of the manga so much.

is it really this little dude bday?

Attached: muichiro.png (271x436, 94.82K)

I read it all and am currently watching the anime. Everything is very well done (very limited cg use, and when it is used it blends in very well) and the characters always seem to be on-model. Very few, if any, QUALITY moments.
Music and OST is great, too. Especially ending of episode 19. Hit hard.

there weren't really any unanswered questions that mattered if anything i think they explained too many things but that's just me, i like fantastical elements to remain just fantastical, but i think there was a lot of stuff that could've, or should've in a few cases, been explored more.

Attached: 79401660_p0(compressed).jpg (4000x2200, 3.4M)

I realized it was actually yesterday just after posting it so it's a belated bday

They'd both be fairly old, and both of them are abandoned childen that might not be in government records.
What's more horrible is realizing that all the kids Tanjiro and Kanao have will be like 20 years old prime fodder age for WW2.

Remember the train arc, where a boy enters Tanjiro’s dream and sees such overwhelming kindness that it makes him weep?

Yeah, that never came up again in the story. Not even when Muzan entered Tanjiro. Ok.

Are there any things that you could see them having trouble animating?
It’s crazy how much of the manga I forget already.. I think after talking about it for a few more months I’d like to forget most of it and reread it again a few years later though.

Zentisu would probably cry and scream in some corner (and harass but not rape some poor korean/chinese girls) the whole way though since he can't really use his breath in front of regular people

Inosuke would go ham

Oof I hope they give us demon fillers

Attached: 5fd85d8a52369564c1c454adb098d4a0.jpg (960x688, 136.88K)

even putting aside the fact that inosuke at least has no documentation or their potential ages, still low to nonexistent. they'd both be horrible fits for the kind of abusive rigid culture of the imperial military. inosuke gets thrown in prison for beating the shit out of an officer or senior enlisted man when they try to give him the customary hazing beating and zenitsu would just desert

If Tanjiro taught them breaths they’d probably have enough control over their body to pretend they’re hurt or something. I hope.

Kiriya could probably just protect all the remaining demon slayers with his money.

They'd only be about 35, not that old at all.
Japan drafted all men between 15~60.
It depends how quick they popped out babies, but considering the time skip referred to Zenitsu and 'grandpa' I think it wouldn't be a stretch to say they waited a bit.
Also none of the characters have even started romantic relationships by the end of the series. I imagine they don't get together for a few years.

Attached: zenitsu nezuko.png (1000x1333, 876.69K)

I think the entire story focuses on that. Tanjiro is a simple boy that wants to become a demon slayer to protect people.

gyokko and hantengu both do shit that will be mostly cgi and prime places to fuck up if they lower their standards/budget

Well then belated HBD to him.

Attached: muichiro.jpg (1056x1920, 205.16K)

Final fight should have been Tanjirou and Nezuko vs Muzan

Muzan doesn't have the concept of kindless, lol.
That human boy did.
Also Tanjiro's kindness rubs off on everyone he meets, it's how people learn to accept Nezuko.

Attached: tanjiro lies.jpg (400x309, 24.03K)

hopefully the novels will deliver on that front

Attached: 79703625_p0.jpg (4632x1988, 3.87M)

Muzan baby will probably be CGI which would be lame.
Maybe Upper Moon 2's ice attacks? Idk, I'm pretty confident they'll do ok overall.

>he can't really use his breath in front of regular people
I think he can by the end, no? It's how he defeated that one upper demon that used to be his senpai?
