I read it so long ago I can barely remember it to be honest.
All I remember is that they took a lot of liberties with that movie lols, but I still liked it.
Elijah Cox
Couldn't get into it. Weird because I liked Knights of Sedinoa.
Landon Anderson
Liked it.
Isaiah King
OP here. Next on my list.
Leo Lewis
>Couldn't get into it. I was taken aback at first by the poorly drawn characters in the beginning, but the world kept me going.
Nolan Sanders
Loved it. Sparse dialogue was kind of refreshing considering most manga tends to veer towards overexplanation.
Luis Rogers
Be prepared to be angry about a penis Butthole Good series though.
Gavin Bailey
BLAME! is the only manga I own physical copies of. the artwork and ambiance is enough to justify it on their own.
that being said, I understand that the plot is off-putting for some. the narrative is similar to dark souls' storytelling - the plot makes sense if you take time to observe details, but it isn't explicitly explained at any point - you have to piece it together from snippets. I happen to like that, as it rewards the reader for sinking in and immersing themselves in the work; the time you take with it to understand what's going on gives you time to really appreciate the atmosphere and art.
Justin Phillips
That film was one of the best films I ever saw — the problem is that it will always be compared with even better source material, and how faithful it is to is.
The strip was one of a kind in how well it was able to convey a sense of vastness, and that at the end of it all the reader had only witness a very small slice of Killy's immensely long journey.
Angel Rodriguez
How much does the film cover?
Hudson Nguyen
You talking about the CGI one?
Andrew Smith
It covers the part with people with harpoons but alters the story
Josiah Jackson
And his daughter for cancelling it
Aiden Jenkins
>Extremely interesting that the author doesn't try to explain every single thing about well, the bad part is it is barely explaining anything. it is such a cool setting and has great world building but yet fails to deliver a good story
Henry Scott
does it, though? I won't call you a speed reader, but I think the story was semi-comprehensible after one reading, and pretty clear after 1 re-read.
Anthony Anderson
Is that why he ended the story? I remember the last pannel was the MC daughter surrounded by the gauna.
Alexander Brown
>Extremely interesting that the author doesn't try to explain every single thing about the world and the characters. I got "filtered" because I thought the opposite. Sure, maybe any amount of lore would ruin the mystique of the world and characters, but it got really old really fast. Only manga I speedread the last 10 chapters on. Objectively good, beautiful art, but just not for me. I really wanted answers.
Blame! is just an excuse for Nihei to draw cool backgrounds and characters. The story comes last
Still a good read but meah, makes you wish it had a real story
Adam Miller
disagree. the story definitely comes behind the art and characters, but I think it's a good and rewarding story, a lot better than a lot of the shonenshit. we have interesting factions; social commentary on power, goals, and humanity; interesting world mechanics; interpersonal drama, etc... I don't see how most people miss that. then again, I'm guilty of liking slow, ambiguous works.
I?m exactly the opposite. Knights of Sidonia was a huge dissapointment for me after Blame. Felt too much like a generic shounen more than a space opera.
Evan Myers
I mean it ain't perfect, since worst girl won. Who picks a 30ft Penis Butthole over the captain or hott ass who literally became to girl to fuck the MC. But still, it's my 2nd favorite manga of all time.
Jaxson Myers
Since this is kind of slow how do we feel about Aposimz? I really love how much effort he puts into the lore of his stories.
Ethan Bailey
To me the lack of answers was adequate because it depicts such a far future that it is hard to even imagine... definite things. This would age the story extremely fast. I like how in this and in Boichi's Hotel such far future is only showed in a glimpse because we have no idea how fast and which direction technology and humanity will "evolve". I like how Blame's dystopian future feels so alien it would be difficult for us to comprehend their way of thinking.
Yeah he showed his work to his daughter and she said "why don't you make cool manga like snk" and it crushed him which is why he canned the manga. Iirc that incident stopped him from writing manga for several years
John Lee
Author study architecture, then manga. Blame is just a collection of architectural sketches, story and characters are just filler. KoS is his first manga.
Brody Allen
don't really care for the minimalist style. i prefer Knights Of Cydonia even though the pee pee monster won.
Jacob Smith
It gives you enough to understand everything that happens in the story, and enough to serve as a foundation for you to wonder and imagine about the rest. I genuinely don't think more explanations would improve Blame even if they were done well.
