Good game so far, but after what feels like 3 set-up chapters in a row, I´m starting to feel this arc is lacking a bit of a punch when compared to Air Poker or Tower of Karma.
I mean, pic related is still the best scene we got from this gamble, and that was six chapters ago.

Never fucking underestimate Toshio. The moment hes got you into thinking this gamble may be lacking hes gonna slap you in the face with 10 levels of intrigue. I remember thinking Air Poker at the start seemed pretty bland minus the god level aesthetic of it. I figured out decently fast it was poker hands and then led myself to believe it was all too simple. I now think Air Poker is genuinely the best gamble in the whole series.

I do expect this last game to finish as a Top 3 gamble overall, since the climax will probably be pretty awesome, given the author´s track record.
I feel like the gamble started pretty strong, especially with Baku going Super Sayan in his first time as "C", but has become a bit flat in the last 2 chapters or so. Next chapter sounds very promising.

What I'm looking for in this gamble is definitely what we got in the last chapter. Just flashbacks to Baku and Hal and their friendship. I honestly thought there would be more talking between them during rounds, which may still start happening. But I want that juicy friendship to come out cause I know deep down neither want to kill each other but here they are.

Special mention to the Bookstore gamble and the Real Labyrinth game. This list is right off the top of my head, so I could easily be forgetting one that I just absolutely love.

Your list is pretty similar to mine, except I would trade Encirclement of the 4 gods for the Coin-pushing game between Hachina and Kidou as my favorite "minor gamble" in the series. Everything involving Oofuna gains like 10 extra points for me, still pissed we never saw him gamble again.

I just really love Encirclement of the 4 gods because its just Baku having 100% control of the game and fucking over these average people into thinking they have any chance. Its a very simple game but he really puts some fun mind games in there. Which is the same for the coin pushing game. Oofuna is definitely great, and you never know, Toshio throwing around the idea of an Usogui Side story he could always make a return.

It´s also one of the most visually striking gambles when it comes to the panelling and the several techniques the author uses to make head/neck movements look super intense. I like it a lot.

maybe because its easier to root for kaji

You could also say you know for a fact kaji doesn’t have a 4D mindgame going on so the stakes are higher for his games.
