literally me lol

so does he grow past this retarded mindset (and realize it's retarded) or do the girls sympathize/coddle him/the narrative proves him right at every turn

8man has been trying the last few episodes to say to Yukino that he wants to be closer to her, got shot down.

He's wrong in the story because the nice girl actually likes him for genuine reasons. But the story doesn't do anything with her so it's pointless.

Explain.

>head canon
That's not why he's wrong, the "nice girl" likes him because he's her hero and before she even met him personally.

Ironic how Yuifags already lost at the start of season 1.

He's specifically talking about Yui, who isn't the heroine, because she starts hanging around him based on a pretense (basically his teacher's trying to get him to stop being such a loner), but she actually likes him because he helped her in the past at what inadvertently ended up being a big personal cost. So she was using the pretense to try to get closer to him. But because Hachiman is so guarded and insecure, he thinks she just feels guilty about what happened and pities him.

And none of this really matters because the story quickly stops being about this and nothing about Yui's character ever really gets resolved.

Sounds like shit, did he at least apologize for being a cunt?

Didn't this end? What happened?

Hachiman told Yui not to wait for him no matter what happens, which is his way of saying even if things don't work out with Yukino he wont pick her ever.

To my knowledge, no. I really have no idea what the fuck the author was doing because I don't think the story ever gets to a point where he ever really confronts Yui's feelings.

Well what a shame, sounds like it could be a cool setting.

I was enjoying
>literally me: the anime
in some kind of sick vicarious way for a while. But I'm not watching it anymore.

>guy saves my dog
>i now owe him sex
explain this yaharitards

You fall in love for the stupidest reasons especially in high school. An in Japanese society where standing out gets you ostracized him standing out probably drew her attention to him.

waifu bait characterisation

I don't even think it's a dumb reason. Isn't the whole point that she likes him because he's selfless and brave, to the point of it being annoying or excessive sometimes?

In her interlude, she called him her hero. So she likes his selfless qualities, even if it's self destructive.

I don't think it's a dumb reason either. Picking up women using dogs is a pretty tried and true method so saving some girls dumb dog doesn't exactly stretch unbelief there.
>Isn't the whole point that she likes him because he's selfless and brave...
Well yeah I guess.

People love heroes.

LITERALLY ME

Wow he's literally me

>WOES ME.

8man didn't do the chad-incel thing of going for both and failing, leaving the series on a melancholic tone (or not failing and just being self insert dogshit)
8man didn't do the in-char thing of apex incel-chad move of ditching both girls so neither would feel unwanted at a cost to his own happiness; living a life of solitude with fatbro while definitely-not-fucking his sister on the downlow before meeting a girl at college free from his previous school life and using what he learned to be a slighlty better person
8man didn't do the character-growth thing that the first 80% of the narrative sets up, of learning to trust enough that he could reciprocate Yui's feelings and reintegrating partially with society on his own terms
No, 8man, in his exponential wisdom fell for the too-perfect-too-beautiful-too-pretty-to-make-friends Mary Sue within the last few arcs to 'save' her from deepest-darkest-secret-im-not-who-you-think-I-am-but-I'm-exactly-who-you-think-I-am Ikeman; which in turn means that the premise the series starts with (Sensei setting him upwith a gf) goes unchanged by 8man's actions, Mary Sue's evil schemeing nee-san who acts as the proto-antagonist of the series got exactly what she wanted with no cumuppence, Mary Sue doesn't have to change one bit and 8man gets to be his miserable old self for the rest of his life except with a perfect obedient loving japanese wife which any and all female readers should clearly strive to be to get the guy.

Or, tl;dr, worst girl won. Even the literal fujoshi was a better endgame choice for 8man, and that's a feat in and of itself.

Don't firefighters have some comically high young marriage rate or something like that?

Seethe more yuifag. Also no need to write an essay about your miserable life user.

Hachiman is so damn cringe it hurts.

He acts like an autist.

No wonder this shit is so popular among zoomers

Not the same user but then what's the truth?

Does anything about Yui ever even get brought up again or resolved?

Yukino will fall in love with the 8man. However, the 8man is a loner and does not reciprocate her GENUINE so she builds a time machine to go back in time, to the time when he was most vulnerable, and becomes his sensei. Future-Yukino who loves the 8man will become the cupid that forces 8man into loving past-Yukino and responsibility will be taken. Sensei will then fuck off into the timestream to chase time-ghosts or end up in ancient China and CULTIVATE to become the chinese electric batman's distant ancestor or something.

>hating Yukino so much that you consider a fujoshit better
the state of side girl shitters.

i watched it in highschool now that im watching the new season its super cringe bro like dude its just some edgy teen melowdrama

They both lied knowingly to 8man

You know, I didn't think I hated Yukino until I read that post you're replying to. I think I finally have to acknowledge the fact that yeah, I hate her. It's not just that the story completely changed to accommodate her romance and basically invalidated the point of everyone and everything that had happened up until that point, it's also that she's just awful. Her biggest problem is that she's horribly self-centered and needs to get over herself, and nothing about her changes or gets resolved. It's like all of her problems are extrinsic factors because the plot demands it, nothing's ever her fault, and nothing ever really challenges her as a person. All of the vulnerability she shows just so the protagonist can sweep her off her feet feels totally pointless except to placate shipper faggotry.

So congratulations, your "best girl" "won." The fictional character that you like more got together with the protagonist, at the cost of everything that would give this story progression or depth or meaning or anything. It was all just a vapid wheel-spinning exercise to get to this point. Hooray.
