The point is a bit nuanced - I think Yukino is AWARE what 8man has been trying to do - i.e. help her and always be with her and always going out of his way for her sake. She's actually very perceptive, and a great example would be when she realized that he was helping her during the cultural festival when he gave the slogan suggestion as a way of subtly reprimanding Sagami. What she is unaware of is the motive of his actions. She believes he's only doing that because he gets a kick out of her depending on him, i.e. pathological codependency or whatnot. He doesn't quite get that he's madly in love with her, like a real genuine love.
