If anybody thinks of watching the life-action remake, it is not worth it.
The remake changes the ending without really changing the rest of the plot (some minor changes, new characters, but they don't change the plot in crucial way), the main characters have no chemistry between them at all.
In Jin-Roh there was constant tension, you wondered what the characters thought or felt.

It was pretty good, nice twist towards the end, but holy fuck was that cringe ass rendition of red riding hood hamfisted as fuck. It literally ruins the ending.

The writing was also pretty bad, the way characters would speak with analogies all symbolic like was incredibly unnatural and hard to take seriously. All the character interactions where incredibly boring too, I can’t think of a single interesting conversation or back and forth.

Still a solid movie, the overall bad writing just kind of seems to be a given with anime writers , they just don’t understand people or how people talk and act, which is weird because they can capture a stunningly niche slice of the human experience with facial animation alone in this movie.

Well of course you couldn’t find flaws, you’re an anime fan, you don’t even know what to look for and even if you did your standards are incredibly low anyways

I liked Red Spectacles too, another movie worth a rewatch (even more than Jin Roh, since Red Spectacles was very confusing until the end).
I liked the writing, but i completely agree with red riding hood being hamfisted as fuck. That's my biggest gripe with the movie. Also it is very weird when the characters are quoting the tale (especially the ending), the book being a part of the plot etc. It feels fike the writers are treating the viewer like a idiot.
They should leave only hints to the tale (like Fuse's dream, "the wolf brigade", girl wearing red) instead of literally putting the tale into the movie.
Still an awesome movie.
Yes, it was some kind of political conflict between 2 seperate state forces, but I don't remember it that well, it was pretty confusing.

Please do me a giant favor and never download Judas again. He literally does some of the worst fuckinge encodes known to man.

The whole film sans the action scenes reminded me of a cheesy Film Noir. Which was fine by me.

The fact that so many people have a problem with the pacing of this movie shows how much the attention spans of people have degenerated
