Today’s Arc: Skypeia. Remember to mark spoilers. >There once was a man named Gold Roger, who was King of the Pirates. He had fame, power and wealth beyond your wildest dreams. Before they hung him from the gallows, these were the final words he said: "My fortune is yours for the taking, but you'll have to find it first. I left everything I own in One Piece.” Ever since, pirates from all over the world set sail for the Grand Line, searching for One Piece, the treasure that would make their dreams come true.
Here’s how the story goes: We find out about a treasure in the Grand Line, there’s no doubt, and the pirate who’s eye is on it, he’ll sing “I’ll be King of the Pirates, I’m gonna be King!” His name is Luffy (That’s Monkey D. Luffy) and he’s going to be King of the Pirates. He’s also made of rubber. >How did that happen? Yo ho ho, he took a bite of the Gum-Gum fruit. Accompanying him are Zoro, who’s just like a samurai, an L-A-D-Y Nami who’s not shy, Usopp who’s doing that marksman thing, Sanji who’s cooking, Chopper who’s doctoring and Robin who’s searching. They climb the knock-up stream high into the clouds, towards the floating archipelago Skypeia!
Previously, the Straw Hats met Montblanc Cricket, a former pirate who now dives into the ocean searching for the city of gold described by his ancestor Noland. He knows a way to reach the sky island, but in order to get there they’ll need an animal called a Southbird. While the crew run around the forest chasing the bird, Bellamy arrives and steals Cricket’s gold, angering Luffy. Luffy destroys Bellamy and they sail towards the ‘knock-up stream’, a phenomenon where a large amount of water is blasted skywards. They manage to avoid the Blackbeard pirates who are hunting Luffy, and sail straight up!
