Oh I just started watching it and it's actually really enjoyable.. I mean I thought it would be a bore, and initially the cars were hideous but.. I was wrong desu
First season and especially the first chapters are master pieces of hype and action, sadly it gets extremely repetitive and boring
There's a sequel manga to this set in a future. He apparently crashed in a raceway and then retires from racing and becomes a driving instructor.
I think the manga is called MF Ghost.
I think mother fucking ghost is more promising because while it's even more absolutely fucking bullshit than initial d in respect of a shitbox beating top of the line super sportscars with their 1000 folded twin turbos and rusted frames for superior cornering, it has some actual character development and SoL aspects that initial d desperately needed
The MC is annoying as hell though so I wouldn't recommend.
Like another user pointed out the first season is some of the best stuff. Around season 3 though it starts becoming villain of the week and gets repetitive. But overall the show is solid and the music elevates it so much.
Great show that should only be watched by car guys,
Niggers like this should stick to their shonen
yes, car guys can get more from the show.
Still, it has good hype for everyone regardless of car knowledge
Who are you quoting?
Final season is underrated
I love it, still cant drive worth shit.Who are you quoting though?
INFOMEISHON
It also sells pretty damn well. Wouldn't be surprised to see an anime.
COOL VIBRATIONS
It has a massive place in my heart since it was my first anime. The first stage is masterpiece territory and 2-3 are extremely enjoyable. The soundtrack is legendary and elevates the experience immensly. altough they quickly get repetetive stages 4-6 have some of the greatest moments and races.
did tak get with his highschool-ex in the end? The literal whore.
no he meets pic related in stage 5
It was enjoyable but the story takes a weird turn when his bro ends up duping him into a race because he likes an autistic girl
Dropped it there and haven't had an urge to go back
Enjokosai or whatever is called.
>tak
I rewatched the tokyopop dub for shits and giggles because it was how I originally saw the anime back in the early 2000s. The name changes are fucking hilarious. Natsuki was renamed to Natalie, and keisuke was called K.T. They also removed the eurobeat and had some alternative rock shit instead.
Read the manga recently. One of the few times i liked the anime alot better. Also it left way too many loose ends. Especially regarding the female characters. And that golf cunt he was dating at the end didn't even go see his finally race. what a fucking cunt
mmmm dagoomi drive car
Have you already seen this? Because that's all you need to see.

This. I feel like First Stage standalone works very well, whereas the rest of the series seems forced and latched on.
First stage is good and funny.
All the rest is shoehorned and the protagonist has one of the best plot armor I ever seen.
He destroyed his engine twice and still won
There's at least one user here that thinks Fourth Stage is better than First Stage and the memory of his absolute shit taste sticks with me to this day. Don't know if you're here, but just wanted to point out how bad one's opinions can truly get.
I got the impression that the author has not had good experiences with women/romance himself, honestly.
It's great
First season is a solid laidback shounen about a bunch of friends and is very accessible, unironically.
