Vagabond Storytime?

Hiatuses don't matter in either case.
Some anons are annoyed by the HxHposting and feel the childish need to retaliate.

Yes it fucking matters. 5 fucking years without a single fart. And is not like is an original story everyone knows how it ends Miyamoto kills Kojirō

Vagabond is not on hiatus though. It's officially dead.

There was a Vagabond 'ending' shown at an Exhibition with Musashi taking on a kind of trainee -- imgur.com/a/Qk0Lf -- plus the manga itself is Inoue's take on a completed novel (like you alluded to), plus Inoue is producing other manga content. The only fans unsatisfied are the ones who want to see the Kojiro fight drawn, and I suppose that's fair enough, but it is clearly not what Inoue wants to do.

Everyone knows how Vagabond is going to end, and Inoue doesn’t even hide the fact he is just done with it, Hiatus X Hiatus started a whole new saga when it really should have ended after the elections, now nobody knows where the story is going, Togashi just says "wow my back" every 2 years and his fans are the worst there is.

Farm arc was the best anyway
Light years ahead of what Vinland saga did

>old musashi
is he still a virgin at that point?

How the fuck is the monk still alive

he's literally inoue's self insert

We lost the faith

how come that vagabond is a failry popular mango on Zig Forums but whenever there is a thread up, and there almost never is, it ends up going nowhere and dying after like 20 replies?

Because we have nothing to talk anymore, there is no new content, and because it's popular, the thinkgs that could be discussed have already been discussed

>The only fans unsatisfied are the ones who want to see the Kojiro fight drawn
no, he would finish his fucking manga and we already have a masterpiece

This

no one wants to shitpost endlessly like a battle shounen thread

what

>5 years without a single word
*laughs in Hagiwara*

It sucks that we'll never get a full ending because it would absolutely be a new classic, but at the same time, the author has no interest and its hard to feel sore about it when you know historically Musashi beats Kojiro and then dies of old age so it's not as if it's open ended.

He gives Togashi a run for his money.

I don't know Japanese history and have not read this yet. However, why hasn't Inoue finished this yet excluding the "not interested" reason. Is the place where the manga stops at still a viable stop just enough for someone to read the manga fully and end up completely satisfied?

I'd say it ends on a satisfying enough note, even if it is abrupt. From what I remember where it stops Musashi is pretty much at the wise Buddhist master swordsman point that he's gonna be the rest of his life, so in your head you can imagine what happens next, he'll leave the farm, duel Kojiro on a beach at Ganryu Island and then time will skip ahead to him being an old master in a cave, writing his book and establishing Muten Ichi-ryu style for the next generation of warriors. All the other plot threads are kind of whatever, Otsu probably gets married, Matahachi is gonna be a storyteller or something. With that in mind I imagine the author just can't be fucked to draw all of that for a bunch of years when everyone has already imagined it, he'd rather do his wheelchair basketball series or whatever he's doing now.

Idk man I think he's passed Togashi and Miura by now

Because no one gives a shit. It was nice enough while it was ongoing, but nothing about it was that remarkable

Everyone praises this manga. It's a shame this isn't finished (even if it's based on history), it'd cement itself as a TRUE masterpiece and perhaps the greatest manga of all time. Speaking of greatest, is there a manga that you can say is equal to or greater than Watchmen in terms of greatness?

I Might argue pic related hiatuses are worse then Vagabond's, Hunter's, and Berserk's (maybe even Bastard's but that might be a stretch).
All three have a decent backlog to read at least and assuming they ever come back you can expect monthly chapters (weekly for hunter x hunter)
But with Historie there can be no more then 6 chapters per year, and there is always a guaranteed 1-2 year long hiatus after 7-8 chapters.

To put that in perspective in the past 10 years
HxH has had 9 volumes released
Vagabond and Berserk have had 6 volumes
And Historie has had 5 volumes
And the best part is, Historie probably isn't even halfway done. We're just now getting to Phillips death after almost two decades and it will probably be another two decades before Alexander death.
Tl:DR Iwaaki is more likely to die before Eumenes does .

>is there a manga that you can say is equal to or greater than Watchmen in terms of greatness?
no, unless moore did a manga i'm not aware of

based farming arc chad

>iwaaki is more likely to die before eumenes does
and then the readers will know how cucked eumenes felt for most of his life

You know I never thought about it that way. But honestly with Vagabond and Historie I don't really care about getting new chapters. I appreciate what's been drawn and am fine with rereading them until I feel like I've read enough and drop them. There's a timeless, unfinished quality to them.

But Jesus fucking christ miura where's my chapter?
