Everything would make more sense if sausage was female and explain naruto's obsession with her. They could make sakura gay/bi for sasuke, but that feels kind of lame honestly.
Naruto would still have feelings for sakura, and honestly just sees sasuke as a rival. However, as time passes they might both realize their feelings are more than rivals or friendship, but neither of them admit it till their final battle.
