"Self-insert" is inherently bad. It's not a videogame where you get to make choices that define your personality. It's a structured, concrete story. If the character lacks any real personality outside of "he likes girls" and "he helps girls" then he's boring. Zig Forums hates when people like characters because they say shit like "ur thighs r so sexy lul" but hardly do shit to develop that part of their personality.
