It's not, Steel Ball Run is infinitely better.

it's not as good as sbr but it's really good. the mystery feels very original, more so than the "find the killer" mystery of part 4. the family dynamic of the higashikatas is also new for jojo and the past few chapters has really made it interesting. the fights are alright to good, a. phex twin, california king bed, and blue hawaii were snoozefests though, vitamin c, doobie wah, and ozone baby have been my favorite so far with wonder of u looking like it will join that list.

I like it better than SBR but a lot of Gappy's fights just end with him using bubbles in a boring way.

Honestly has been my least favorite part so far. Still OK but it’s mostly carried by the characters, the fact there doesn’t really seem to be a main villain or anything yet makes me feel it kind of lacks focus and the fruits it’s focusing on now aren’t terribly interesting. Stands are cool but I feel like some of them are pretty much stands from previous parts which isn’t really fresh or as interesting imo. Stand designs have mostly been very good so far though.

I don’t mind series with investigation and less fighting but I feel like the fruits are a kind of weak Macguffin compared to previous parts. Like before we had spooky mask, rock of power, ancient enemy, serial killer, special arrow, DIO’s bone/achieving heaven, literally Jesus, and now fruit. I just feel like we know pretty much everything there is to know about it, there isn’t really anything about it that makes it interesting except maybe it’s origin but even then.

What will happen when Tooru will eat the fruit?

Four chapters of rock human lore which contradicts previous lore.

The fruit is the modern version of the Aja stone, will evolve Tooru's stand into the usual busted OP shit.
