The style used for the Baki series reminds me more of the medieval japanese tapestries than modern manga trash. You may not like it, but it's unique and beautiful in its own style, and unlike photo-realistically accurate art or cutetsy-wutetsy moe-blob style, it works perfectly well to convey feelings of strength and intensity where it wants to.

the art is not bad, it's a style, the characters are heavily exaggerated to create an impression of pure raw strength, look at the table and food details
it's basically a niche, like Akagi/Kaiji series, and it's fucking good at doing what it does

Often the argument is made that you don't need to be a chef to know a dish is bad, and you don't need to be a director to know a film is bad. Essentially it's a statement that you don't need to have a deep intimate understanding of creation of a commodity to judge the quality of it. This misses the nuance that you DO need to have that knowledge to know WHY something is bad, and you very clearly have never drawn anything more complex than a stick figure.

Not only is extremely unpleasant to look. But is completely unfit for the story. It totally ruin it.
A manga like Baki is "ugly" on purpose. Is a drawing style that the mangaka use to maximize the over the top nonsense of the manga.
BR2 is simply completely wrong.
