if the anime is entertaining, it's entertaining. even if the show is absolute dreck and total trainwreck you still have people watching it for the sake of it.

the "worst" anime you could mention are those offensively mediocre and derivative that I can't even come up with any examples because how easily they can be forgotten

Tough to say. With LL I think I just spent so much time with the various parts of the franchise that I became invested. I recognize that the writing's stupid and the art's bad and that the girls are clichés (and honestly, not that cute), but I do still enjoy watching it. And I'll watch the new one when it comes out. I think it's got a new character designer?

Case in point Blood C is one of the worst fucking series ever made and thinking like this enables people to put any trash like that on a pedestal.

Taste is subjective and writing you might find good, I could find pure garbage. Objectively bad doesn't exist. Someone out there will always love something you personally think is bad.

Writing quality is mostly objective. For example, asspulls, character inconsistncy, plot threads not being followed upon, pointless characters/plot elements taking up time, not enough being given to characters/plot to make it believable, etc. The list goes on.

You don't understand what I'm saying. There's a difference between enjoying "shit writing" because it caters to your personal tastes, and enjoying it because you like watching the show crash and burn. In one you actually like the show, and in the other you're only watching it as a means to laugh at it, which isn't really enjoying the show as much as it is the context of the show being so laughably bad
