1. Your problem starts with the "everyone".
2. Anime often represent young people, which means, normal girls wouldnt be pregnant at those ages.
3. Pregnant girls arent as marketable, just accept it. It is exactly the same for ugly girls, fat girls... These are mostly undesirables to young man, so they might fit in some manga, but something like shounen wont waste their time with such unless in certain cases. Yes, making sure the woman are attractive and thus will sell merchandise as well as boost the product, is a goal.

Actually a slice of life centered around a pregnancy could probably be made into a really interesting story. Start the show with the new mom finding out she's pregnant, and she gives birth in the last episode, with the bulk of the show being her life in between. I'm actually surprised this hasn't been done already.

Like I said above, there is some space for this stuff. Even a smaller public can keep things going as long as they all buy into it. That is literally how answering to a niche can be profitable.
