Is there anything you refuse to watch or read because of the fanbase?
Is there anything you refuse to watch or read because of the fanbase?
No.
Of course not. I despise more of the fan bases of things I like.
Only really stupid normalfags would do such a thing.
Yes
Kinda sorta pick related. I heard Tadakuni just drops off the face of the planet, so I stopped watching it
You know that one scene where the boys feel bad about seeing Ringo's panties? Holy shit was that accurate. In highschool this girl's skirt was caught by her backpack and everyone saw her panties. I felt so horrible since she was such a nice girl.
That reminds me. I need rewatch this show it's been forever since I've seen it and nothing has made me laugh harder.
Yeah, several.
Symphogear, Hunter x Hunter, Violet Evergarden, anything involving studio Trigger, Flip Flappers.
From the videogame side I have Hollow Knight, Metal Gear Rising and the Trails of Cold Steel series.
Code Geass.
I once got a classic wind-blowing-the-skirt-up and I'm pretty sure I was the only one who saw it. Felt pretty good being a pure chance sort of thing.
No, I only avoid those fanbases, like the DB one.
Raildex and SAO really look unappealing based on the threads.
There are things I enjoy, but can’t stand to discuss here, because of how awful the threads are.
This is the voice of experience
Game of Thrones
no because i tend to be there before the fanbase gets there and ruins it
and once i started reading something i aint dropping it
No, but some fanbases did manage to overhype something for me, like JoJo. Jojofags suck its cock all day, and I was bored to tears and dropped it in the middle of part 2.
Absolutely this. I hate pretty much all the "fandoms" of the series I like. That doesn't necessarily mean I'll hate anyone else who likes it, but the general stupid memes and injokes and shipping tend to suck.
Though overhype happens too.
Daily lives high school boys manga creator has another manga called zai x 10 and it's hilarious
JoJo and Chainsawman oh, and Fire Punch toi
the only correct answer
Oh, just Jashin-chan.
I don't really need a reason to not watch/read anything. The animu/mango fanbase disappoints me daily.
Black Butler. Yaoi shit disgusts me. I loved the premise but after discovering that is has a sizable yaoi fan crowd I couldn't look at the anime the same way again. I think the second season had some serious gay fanservice too.
Insecure. Form your own damn opinions on the product.
Dropped chainsaw man half way through when it got popular, the threads got kinda annoying
>dropping a manga because the threads are bad
It's not insecurity; it's just a logical conclusion.
There must be something putrid about the work in question that attracts such people to it.
Not that user but that's really pushing it. There are tons of morons who like things that are good, and of course the annoying ones are the loudest. You'll miss out if you adhere to that mindset.
This is the most retarded post I've seen all day.
Not really; the worse the work the worse the fanbase.
Add to that how watching / reading the work in question would mean capitulating to them. You're rewarding all of their shitposting and all of their relentless attacks against things you like.
I honestly can't even think of 1 anime/manga fanbase I'm part of already that I do like.
If i did that then i wouldn't consume anything.
Anime/manga itself has a terrible fanbase.
No, but they'll put a damper on the experience
No, I'm not autistic enough for that.
The opposite may happen though.
No, and no you're not. It is possible to enjoy something on your own or with friends. Liking the same thing doesn't mean you're being forced to engage or befriend these people. There's this weird assumption nowadays that being a fan at all automatically means you're a "part" of the fandom.
