Question for those that keep up with light novel. The Sin Archbishop (fucking love that title) from the last season had the witch factor from the Sloth witch, and that gave him vectors right?
And since Subaru killed that guy, he inherited the witch factor.
So, wouldn't that mean Subaru now can use those vectors?
If my assumption is corrected, when can I expect to see him use them, I don't care about spoilers, I'm not that invested in the show.
I think it'd be nice if he had some way to hold his own when the action starts, cause right now since he can't do much except run, it makes the action scenes very predictable.
Re;Zero season 2
You are right on all accounts except your assumption that it would make him able to fight because he can only summon one arm and it hurts him. It's good for a surprise but not much else. Subaru will never be able to hold his own in a fight by himself. He's the strategist/debuff/buff guy. The next authority he gets lets him know where his allies are and take the damage they suffer.
God damn it.
Oh well, at least he can kinda use it.
Subaru will likewise both gain his aspect of Sloth and the Sloth Authority; however the way it manifests is different between holders; with a reasonably possible 'weakening' as if passes on between people (not necessarily in strength, but in overall capability, as can be seen with Greed's auth - where Regulus is exponentially more powerful than Echidna in combat usage, however Echidna's scope of power is much greater, with her having her own pocket dimension she can live immortally in, her own floating island, being able to return from death via posession and THEN having the Authority of Greed, a book which has literally everything known to everything written down in it)
For the Sloth authority; this is likewise seen in 'devolution' progression - Sehkmet, the Witch of Sloth was able to beat the shit out of the dragon using her athority and was the most powerful Witch in raw strength (before Envy consumed them all) however we don't know the intricacies of her power outside of it sharing the same invisible-force nature of the later holders, going to Betelgeuse has a large amount of invisible hands and his invisible insanity-death-pulse (the actual Auth of Sloth) that was cut from the anime; while Subaru will only get a measly 1-2 hands, with them corrupting him on use.
Is Echidna that powerful? wouldn't that even make her better than the witches? they don't seem like big deal, besides being dead.
All the Witches were basically walking calamities in power levels; Echidna was arguably one of the better ones for the world because she didn't really give a shit about fuck outside of the accumulation of K N O W L E D G E, and didn't really have any way to do damage outside of being a Roswaal tier magic user which she was passive about.
For context (heavy spoilers), Sehkmet, Sloth, beat the everloving shit out of the dragon that protects Lugnica so hard it's still hiding behind a waterfall to this day; Carmilla, Lust, destoryed the concept of feudalism by collapsing so many countries only 4 megacountries remained; Minerva, Wrath, caused multiple cataclysms and didn't give a shit because she thought she was helping people out and didn't care what others said to her; Daphne, Glutton, was an immortal being which singlehandedly created all the Mabeasts in existence; Typon, Pride, has the ability to not just kill but instantly eviscerate anything that has a shred of guilt on their conscious with absolutely no counter whatsoever; Hector, Mecancholy, is able to instantly create and influence minimal to extreme gravity around him to the point he clowned on the clown like it was nothing and finally Pandora, Vainglory, can alter the course of the future to any extent she can pre-emptively think of provided it's in the realms of very loosely reasonable reality. Oh, and Satella, Envy, was the bipolar embodiment of the apocalypse.
Going on witch power levels, for who-would-win-in-a-fight, the most dangerous (non-WoE) was Sloth, then Pride, then Lust, then the middle being a general tossup before Greed then Wrath all the way at the bottom.
>besides being dead.
Not strictly so, their souls are still hanging around, you'll see later in the anime and as you could have inferred from Echidna.
Man, if the series focused more on awesome world building like this and less on Subaru's repetitive suffering, I'd be sooo much more invested.
>Sehkmet, Sloth, beat the everloving shit out of the dragon that protects Lugnica so hard it's still hiding behind a waterfall to this day
No one knows where the dragon rests and why it's so passive as of this point in the story. He does return when needed though as shown in Wilhelm's story. Also, the dragon managed to kill Sehkmet so it was probably more of an even match.
>Carmilla, Lust, destoryed the concept of feudalism by collapsing so many countries only 4 megacountries remained
First I've heard of this. Source?
>First I've heard of this. Source?
iirc it was revealed in arc 6
too bad most of this stuff gets cut from the anime because it wants to focus more on action and waifus.
There's a good amount of worldbuilding glossed over in the anime, read the WN for the best experience. If that's not your cup of piss, then quite a bit of this comes up in Arc 4 anyways, but then you'll be at the whim of what the anime decides to cut so Emelia can have an extra 3 minutes of screentime where Subaru completely OOC fawns over her every move (see, how Al's entire, hugely important plotline, described as one of the most 3 important in the narrative, is cut entirely from S1 Arc 3, or how Liliana, a very important figure to Arc 5 is cut completely from Arc 2)
Arc 4 should have some more breathing room since it's almost as long as Arc 1-3 combined, but trying to fit Arc 5 would be too much - but with how erratic they've been (such as Subaru's flashback getting an overall well translated episode, compared to how rushed the last episode was, skipping over a lot of Garfield dialogue) it's a tossup to what you're gonna get.
>Also, the dragon managed to kill Sehkmet so it was probably more of an even match.
The dragon didn't kill Sehkmet, she just fell to her death off of the waterfall after defeating it. Whether it was sudoku, exhaustion or laziness is unknown, but the dragon specifically did not equal her.
>Also, the dragon managed to kill Sehkmet so it was probably more of an even match.
The dragon couldn’t do shit, it was only saved by the fact Sehkmet is a dumb bitch and accidentally fell off the edge of the world.
>The fire spread whilst the flames of war coruscated, burning the small country, neighboring countries, and the great country to nothing before long. (Arc VI)
She definitely had a hand in the collapse of a few countries but probably not as many as you're inferring. Is it ever stated how many countries there were before the WoE consumed half the world?
>Regulus Corneas possesses transcendental powers in attack and defense. And that incredible power is locked up in a body that hosts an egotistical, infantile mind. A dangerous entity, as if power identical to the Dragon were given to a petulant child—such is how Fortuna judges this monster. (Arc IV)
>Sekhmet fell down the Great Cascade as she decimated the Dragon, (Arc IV)
This is all I could find regarding the dragons strength relative to others in Arc IV. As far as I could tell, we don't have much information on Sekhmet's and Volcanica's fight so any powerlevel faggotry probably isn't grounded. The dragon is certainly very strong though, I don't know why everyone has a hate-boner for /ourdragon/.
wiki says puck is a artificial fire spirit but uses ice instead. i thought he was a water spirit but then i saw in wiki he can use fire, water and ying. which explains why he could use shadow exclusive spell like shamac but why he can have shadow(ying) attribute in the first place?
i thought he was water spirit.
did the writer mess some shit up?
also why roswall sent elsa on emilia and the mansion?
why his confidence is so big?
or he's just a shit cunt?
is reinhard related to that red haired woman swordman, that butler's wife?
>also why roswall sent elsa on emilia and the mansion?
He knows Subaru will save the day.
>is reinhard related to that red haired woman swordman, that butler's wife?
Yes, that’s his grandmother.
>wiki says puck is a artificial fire spirit but uses ice instead. i thought he was a water spirit but then i saw in wiki he can use fire, water and ying. which explains why he could use shadow exclusive spell like shamac but why he can have shadow(ying) attribute in the first place?
>i thought he was water spirit.
fire magic can control temperature in the RZ verse so puck is creating water then taking all it's heat away basically, and when he goes full beast of the end he just absorbs all the heat and mana in the atmosphere to create an ice age.
>also why roswall sent elsa on emilia and the mansion?
His keikaku, you'll see it later.
>why his confidence is so big?
Big keikaku energy on the man
>or he's just a shit cunt?
also this
>is reinhard related to that red haired woman swordman, that butler's wife?
Wilhelm's full name is Wilhelm Van Astrea, Reinhard's full name is Reinhard Van Astrea, Connect the dots user.
>Ram grown up with a functional horn is stronger than Sehkmet and Regulus
Just learned about this. No wonder keikakuclown keeps her around.
She's useless in comparison now, though.
They all seem pretty OP. Is it ever explained how did Satella manage to kill them all?
>Is it ever explained how did Satella manage to kill them all?
she didn't, it's likely her authority lets her collect the others' witch factors remotely and so every time one of them died on the other side of the world she automatically collected them either consciously or unconsciously.
We know Subaru happens to do this, even when Regulus dies 100 feet deep in the earth the witch factor goes directly to him regardless of the distance. So it could be that it was an extreme case of this with Satella.
Just gonna add this since I did a little more research
>Echidna: “Though even me being the one to remain, I don't think I can really answer to Volcanica's
expectations. If he was going to keep anyone he should've kept Sekhmet. But the problem there's
that Volcanica himself has some gripes with Sekhmet. Getting that beatdown seems to have made
him aware he doesn't deal with her too well.” (Arc IV)
You win Sekhmetfags
>Puck
He can use Fire, Water and Yang; with his speciality in fire. In Re:0 terms, fire essentially just means heat.
>Roswaal
Muh gospel
The Witch of Envy harvested them, Satella had very little to do with it. As for killing them, WoE didn't do that either; she only consumed an aspect of them (be it their souls, aspects of sin etc) - what we do know of how some died was that both Sloth and Pride drowned to death (Sloth with a bit more of a splash, Pride drowning because an entire city was designed to kill her) and Gluttony went out into a desert to die (which is kinda horiffic, given she sent her final days doing nothing but eat fucking sand, coughing it back up, then eating more until she couldn't any more)
Satella "harvested" their witch factors, Echidna "harvested" the dead witches souls. Also I don't recall it ever being stated that Daphne went out to a desert to starve, It's just as possible that she was brought there in order to kill her. Much like the other witches were killed.
The question you should be asking is was it piss ?
it's more likely saliva
the LN already fucked up by not showing Satella appear in the classroom, later this is important to discern how there are two entities called "Witch of Envy", but I guess the LN just wants Echidna in a JK uniform
>she was brought there
No, i's states she went there of her own accord; implying suicide (given she was immortal to aging and disease otherwise)
Did the witches retain their authorities in some manner even though they lost their factors?
Only thing that would sate her hunger was a good dick
Have a source for this one?
Speaking of Authorities, can someone explain to me the fucking Gluttony situation because I still don't get it. I especially don't get how someone could be born in Od Laguna, like how the fuck do you get born in the center of the earth?
My personal theory is that Rui is Reinhard's little sister who became stuck in the od lagna as an unborn baby once her mom became affected with the sleeping beauty disease because Louanna connected both of them to the od lagna in different ways. The way to finding her is through Reid's book because she's an Astrea,
But user, she's not a redhead
Louanna is blonde though, how strong are those redhead genes?
we just don't know
Alright, you guys have sold me on this series.
Clearly the anime has been a pretty poor adaptation if it's failed to convey all this juicy lore.
What do I read to properly experience this series?
tl;dr read the WN where possible, LN for Arcs 2+3 (because they're still being translated)
Not that this post, since you'll get the autistics Remfags guide which in all honesty explains hings well enough in the tl;dr section.
WN
They can utilize them in Echidna's dream world but it doesn't seem like they have access to them in the real world if Omega is any indication.
