Eyeshield 21

Just finished the series, and how the fuck did this one team complete ruin the quality of the series. The anime was right to stop where it did. Almost everything afterwards is so shitty. It's rushed, there's barely any proper build up or payoffs, the Christmas Bowl didn't seem like a big destination at all.

It was a fun series, but I felt like it could've done more than constantly use confidence issues for character growth.

the dinosaurs were fun though. the bowl was boring as fuck though.

Everything was built up for the eventual Shin vs Sena rematch. ES21 fucked up by not leaving future plot points relevant like the the World Cup.

The dinosaur would've been fine if they were a first round matchup or something. But for the finals after beating seibu in like 3-4 chapters, they fucking sucked. Marco was fine, but everyone else was really shitty, the match itself sucked, except for Sena playing QB for a while. Also even after winning, the way the presented it doesn't feel like getting to the Christmas bowl was a big deal.

Everything after the semis were boring. Gao is so shitty.

>it doesn't feel like getting to the Christmas bowl was a big deal.
Because >Everything was built up for the eventual Shin vs Sena rematch.

Yeah I agree with you. I'm just kinda pissed they that the christmas bowl was the goal for almost everyone, but it didn't live to the expectations at all.

kurita stopping being a fag was good though. and it had less of the : ''oh wow look we are so smart we have plans above plans'' like in the other games. it was a change pace that was welcome. oh well.

the usa japan arc sucked ass though.

Im going to get shit for this, but I enjoyed the anime more than the manga despite the many many flaws the anime had.

>kurita stopping being a fag was good though
It was good, kinda wished it happened during Shinryƫji match though.

meh i feel that the shinryuji arc was more hiruma's arc. hardwork beating talent and shit

It had some good music

That's why you image the Christmas Bowl is Deimon vs Ojo, and stop there.

For the last spurt of the series. I have to rank it like this:
vs White Knights > vs Alexanders (Christmas Bowl) >>> vs Dinosaurs > the rest of the series > World Cup

Inagaki writes Dr. Stone, right? Is it just as fun? ES21 is very strong in the character development and interaction departments and I'm wondering if it's the case with Dr. Stone.

That team was fucking great though. I also enjoyed the later stuff but I get it's divisive. For me, I felt the manga overall had a problem (or really clever set-up) of never really setting up what was next, I already experienced the fake-out/should have been the ending thing much earlier.

I wish they had a type of belichickian coach just being smart and stuff. Alexanders could have been that with Yamato or whatever his name. You can't build that great of a program without coaching.

Karin was cute.

Personally think he does a much better job in Dr.Stone and it's way more fun in my opinion.

>That team was fucking great though.
Marco was good, but I found the rest of team to uninteresting especially for a finalist, and their play style wasn't really fun to read.

Stone is better

Why did they allow her to play again?

I remember Hiruma telling a lie to his team that she's actually a guy so they wouldn't hesitate in tackling her, but I forgot how Alexanders themselves got a girl to play in their team.

The game against the Dinosaur is one of my favorites. Although the game against Agon and The Naga is still the best in the whole series.

Bando was the best team.

Most teams allow women, they just can't play at the level of guys

This guy was hilariously overrated, literally an inferior version of Shin.

Eyeshield is a spokon that feels like a Battle Shounen, and to be honest i don't think that Murata or Inagaki grasp all the nuances of football. A figurelike that bastard Bellichick could be a great foe tough. A guy how take average players and make great teams with them. But in a sense Hiruma is kinda like that.

Feel like they should've kept him a legend of something. Akaba did a better job.

I didn't watch the anime, I didn't know one even really existed.

I read all of the anime, though. It was fun.
