link is a long term hold, also the fact it's decoupled from btc is a good thing, this has happened before (link dropped when btc ran up to 11k back in august, only to see link do a 2x from there and stable for a bit around 4 until the March crash). That being said if you can wait 1 year you will be able to easily pay off the loan. The smarter play however is to just make payments on the loan, not touch your link, and win in 3-5 years.
