It could move sooner. If ripple could provide liquidty for the banks to move their money through (on the ILP). For example, take Lend or Compound or even Ampl, these tokens attract liquidity organically because people earn liquidity pool fees as rewards for holding them. Meanwhile, there is no staking pool for XRP. We need one of two things to happen. 1) create an Xrp liquidity pool for millions of people to stake their tokens and they'd be rewarded a small APY for doing so. 2) the banks come together, decide in one joint effort to create the liquidty pool themselves and hold it in their vaults. They do this already with their notro vostro accounts, and provide themselves enough liquidty in house to disperse accounts. If they came together, at say a Swiss bank conference, and pooled a portion of their nostro accounts into an Xrp liquidity pool then they could create the liquidty they need. That was impossible until about 6 days ago, when Brian Banks came out and allowed banks to custody crypto. If things are happening behind the scenes, their really could be a bank buy that inflates the liquidty of the xrp ecosystem overnight.
