Even the smallest morsel of Re:Zero's rich story, an absolute gift from the heavens that no self respecting person could do with out, always eludes his weak, flimsy, clammy, incel grasp. I tried watching this show for my friend but I had to finally give up in the middle of episode 13.
There's some okay-ish things about this show but its really just not good and Subaru is unbearable.

I always been a fan of the rewind mechanic of power. Main dislike of Subaru is his simping of Emilia. I like seeing the series of events change each time, revealing more of the story that we didn't receive the first time or using information that would have never been obtained through the rewind.

I'm probably not gonna finish the episode in the first place. There was a few things in the show that surprised me and that I actually kind of like but I just find Subaru to be an altogether unlikable protagonist.

Episode 13 is similar to episode 4 of season 2. It recontexualized Subaru behavior up into that point in the series.

Episode 13 made him to be selfish and overly prideful. His heroics were that of selfish one.

Episode 4 season 2 closure. Erractic behavior was a mask for his depression and loneliness.

Its more mundane but more retarded and complicated than that. There's a number of factors for why he's doing it and it shifts subtly from time to time. Partially he is sunk cost as fuck on this whole thing and a big part of his character is a desire to not quit on stuff.
