No, it's just been absorbed into all kinds of other anime. But like most things that happens with it's sort of watered down so that it doesn't satisfy fans of it while being alienating to the people watching the anime that it's been absorbed into. It doesn't help that Japan's TV content standards have gotten stricter so a lot of things don't fly these days. Manga's probably a better place for it, but the standards seem arbitrary and some magazines censor nudity while others don't.
And then within some magazines some manga get censored more than others.
arms going out of business was the worst news all year for me. even though they haven't made anything good in years I was always hoping they would come back.
hxeros is ok but the censored airing sucks. we're going backwards no forwards.
Most writers focus too much on the ecchi side of things and forget to make decent/memorable characters. The decline of Queen's Blade is a prime example.

No, it is just merged into other genres now. Comedy/romcom, isekai, battle shonen, etc.
