Make him a slightly older brainiac who acts who like a boomer that gets dragged into the Western Branch shenanigans thanks to Noel, Ninny, and the Dragons while trying to deny the existence of all these strange phenomenons and forced to adapt to a world beyond his pre-learned scope.

That's the problem here, Chad like person would be better.

The series only has 4 chapters to my knowledge, so we just have to tough it through Balgo if Kubo doesn't improve him.
