The only thing I find kind of irritating about Chainsaw Man is that if this were in Afternoon or Big Comic Spirits instead of Jump I'd probably have already dropped it as pointlessly random and edgy. I don't think it would be fascinating on its own like an even more edgy manga like Freesia. But because it's contexualized in Jump it's an event every week. It almost seems unfair to let Fujimoto get this "Jump counterculture" spot.
