Why Neo Piece (One Piece from chapter 598 on) sucks
1.Consistently horrible pacing, worse than Bark back in the old days, every arc is at least 40% longer than it needs to be. The only exceptions I can think of are Zou + Reverie (Doesn't even count since it was cut off because the fans weren't liking it). It doesn't help that most of these arcs are essentially retreads of previous arcs but done worse and stretched longer. Oda goes to the same well way too often and that shit has diminishing returns.
2.Connected, the number of side characters has slightly increased, but much worse, the time devoted to them has tripled. They drown out the rest of the main characters to a ridiculous degree. This is made worse by the fact that most of them are characters that are introduced in the arc they show up and/or characters that are really boring and way inferior to Pre-TS characters or just straight up old characters coming back and being flanderized (Much like the Strawhats they drown out. Robin does nothing and Chopper is just a walking mascot at this point, for example). Even worse, there's so many of them in each arc and they get so much time dedicated to each of them that there's a considerable bloat as you're supposed to recognize and care about all these literal whos.
3.Oda went full fightfag. Admittedly, I remember EL being a clear jump in that direction, but Post-Timeskip is exponentially worse. Look no further than DoFlamingo becoming super-SSJ awakened devil fruit hakiman with Bir D. Cage powers. Oda lost subtlety and is going for the Bleach/DB fanbase. Again, not to say Pre-TS was perfect in this department, but it was certainly much better.
4.Haki is fucking gay. You can blame Oda for coming up with Logia fruits without having thought them through, if you want, but it still reflects poorly on him.
5. Art took a nosedive. Pic related if drawn today, it would have tons of speech bubbles on each side and reaction faces of fodder which would only clutter the page.

Dressrosa has its own individual moments of greatness but that shit was hard to read on a week to week basis. I tried reading One Piece again and skipped most of Dressrosa when I got to it. I don't get the hype that people had for it.
