>Watch first episode >"this is pretty nice" >watch second episode >"ah shit it's gonna be a shitty isekai" >keep watching >somehow one of the more original series out recently and pretty great in general
I thought surprises like this are a thing of the past. Did we get anything like this past or previous season? i really can't think of anything
best father-daughter relationship in years. There was that wave of shows like this a while back, all dads voiced by yuichi nakamura for some reason
Josiah Williams
>indifferent about life and pretty much everything >meet cute genki girl >regain vitality as you watch over her >train her and protect her so she can achieve her dreams >rigged game nearly kills her, then makes her cry >she still tries to keep smiling >decide to burn it all down for her sake
Makes sense- it's a father's sacred duty to protect his daughter's smile.
Charles Powell
Yeah, they're both great together and as separate characters as well. Although Kabu is definitely stealing the show for me, best boy of the season.
Gavin Jackson
I think the focus is going to shift for certain parts, natsume changing the game from the tanker side, kabu trying to overthrow it all from "the outside" I can't get over how generic this looked in the first couple of episodes. Hidden gem.
Levi Nelson
I had written it off as a generic "genki girl gives old man reason to live" type of show after the first episode, but ep. 2 and onwards have proven me to be an idiot. It IS one of those shows, but it's also so much more.
I love this show and I can't wait to see what happens next. It's the first time in many years that I've been genuinely excited to watch something every week.
Jayden Miller
I don't know how people can look at it and think "meh I'm too old for this cartoon shit, dropped." It's the cutest thing ever.
Ryder Miller
Cringe
Angel Ross
People think this?
Cooper Lewis
it's honestly more entertaining than the deca-dence part
Joseph Miller
>"ah shit it's gonna be a shitty isekai" why the fuck did you think this
Logan Baker
people logging out back to a lobby. Well not exactly isekai, but SAO kind of thing.
The whole aesthetic is one of the things that really made me interested, it's almost impressive how the fairly dramatic bits with those cutesy robots don't feel out of place.
>people logging out back to a lobby. Well not exactly isekai, but SAO kind of thing. user they made it blindingly clear it was gonna be an evil capitalist truman show thing >Seriously why such a cartoony look. No thank you if this is going to be part of the next 10 episodes. >that cartoonish scene so ugly af and dumb !!! >if there's anything I still don't like about it is it's childish cartoonish style, not my thing. >This single episode has lost me. The concept and art style was so great in ep 1 and then... this. There's nothing wrong with the idea of these robots? aliens? actually being in control but why the fuck did was that children's TV art style chosen?! I can't take it seriously at all. Also, there were so many elements of this episode that were really confusing. >what I just saw in this episode WTF the anime completely changed I hated the choice of anime to put the character design in Cartoon form mixed with drawing from normal anime kkkkk >be disappointed It looked like a classic serious post-apocalyptic survival story, but it turned out to be another anime about a other mmo game with childish designs, it's absolutely stupid >didn't really like the cartoony art style of the avatars but I like the premise where this show is going too. >The only thing that bothers me is that the players being weird cartoonish people. Honestly, they could've designed the playes differently to attract more audiences. Dont know if I'm going to continue or drop it. and many, many more
Jack Campbell
Did you get those quotes from MAL or the archives here?

MAL ofc

Midwits. Can't live with em. Can't restart a eugenics program to weed them out heralding in a Golden Age.
Kayden Hall
user I think these are straight up dimwits
Aiden King
I would say they're pretentious which makes them just smart enough to be a liability and not smart enough to engage with on any meaningful level.
