I prefer the manga for the fights desu. Compare the Dondorni or whatever the fuck Nino guy's name is fight between the 2 mediums. The manga just has so much more momentum and the panels where ichigo goes hollow/masked look 100times better.

volume covers are based on the content of the volume most of the time, which means that lesser characters who have a little spotlight in less relevant parts of the manga are more likely to get a cover than more prominent characters who have to share the spotlight in arc climaxes or other important events, that's how Hanataro, Kira, Don Panini, Cirucci, Ayon, Hisagi, Riruka, Yukio, Gisselle and Nemu got their covers while Kyoraku, Ukitake, Starrk, Gerard and Lille didn't get theirs
