approximately the best thing ever, not x2.

I feel the same about season 2.

I don't know what the anime lost during x2 but it lost something. It lost that certain charm.

Is that just the adaptation of the latter half that lost people or the latter half itself?

well the first season ended amazingly and came complete full stop, then it split into like 4 episode cours? over the course of a long time, none of them were quite dense enough to fill out any meaningful amount of story. seems like overly successful at ending followed by 100% production failure.

Boring, never finished S1

Season 2 felt all over the place.

away with your bad taste, demon

At what episode did you stop?

TRUST ME
TRUST ME
TRUST ME
YEAH

The ending theme is good.

>Nothing happens
Nex episode
>Nothing happens again but from a different perspective
Next episode
>Nothing happens again
Just random shit I don't care about over and over again, how am I going to watch 20 episodes of this?
Like 7? I don't remember. There was something going on about the motorbike girl without a head and dropped it

things happen, you just didn't see the effects because you're a quitter.

I've heard that they adapted way way way too much LN content for how many episodes they had to work with, so that's why it feels very rushed and the new characters and plot lines are underdeveloped.

I just think shows than can be 10 episodes shorter should be 10 episodes shorter

the slow build up was the reason the climaxes worked as well as they did

I already fell for that meme with shin sekai yori, never again

well perhaps you would prefer baccano

Episode 7 was pretty exciting...

Baccano is pretty good.

the pace is a bit faster, flashbacks are a shitty narrative device though.

I liked the flashbacks. They built upon established characters in a good not so boring way. It didn't feel like unnecessary exposition. The flashbacks were entertaining.

The first season did 3 volumes over 24 episodes, so about 8 episodes per volume. X2 did 9 volumes over 36 episodes, so 4 episodes per volume. Considering how dense the light novels are and how many intersecting plot threads go on at once, cutting the adaptation ratio just really screwed up both setup and payoff of almost every arc.

good anime, good characters,

That explains a lot. I can see why it happened, demand for s2 was rife and adaptations get shorter and shorter every year.

It sucks that X2 had to rush through so many volumes so quickly, but I'm kinda impressed that a completed LN series actually got all of it's volumes adapted into an anime.
99% of the time an anime adaptation of a LN series will adapt only 3 or 4 volumes out of 10+ and then remain unfinished forever.

great story, amazing characters, top tier voice acting
entertaining all around

also I wanna fuck celty

Complications.... I guess it is hard to adapt a manga to anime with so many intertwining storylines.

It's an LN.

Durarara!! is gold.

Thanks for the correction.

I thought it was boring. Dropped it around episode 5.
>But it gets good at the end!
No thanks. I'd rather watch a show that's entertaining throughout.

it is retroactively entertaining

Yes!
