Is it possible to have too much animation?

"I demand everything but sakuga fight scenes look like shit so I don't get embarrassed about all the pan and talk still image anime I've watched"

Yes but that's not it. See: that scene of the girl failing to hide a bag of chips

you can have movements that are excessive but forced animation is such a retarded gripe
It looks too good!

Yes.

Lows and peaks, Wabi sabi concept exist for a reason. It’s not just animation. Music and art in general.

A good song can’t be the same repetitive hook for example. Don’t matter how catchy it is.

The only instance of forced animation in anime history is that one scene in the first episode of the first season of Nanoha.

Yes. But that scene is cute and great.

David Production know exactly where to properly allocate their animation.

The rotoscoped one?

Even that one was an intentional joke.

why does this seem both well and poorly animated at the same time?

Why are catgirls so great Zig Forums?
t. don't even watch this show

Is that Seto Kaiba

>ex shaft

It's pretty unnatural character acting. I've never seen anyone sway around that much while talking.
Makes it seem like the bitch has a neurobehavioral disorder.

She's high on fumes from some nearby volcano.

Cats are cute, girls are cute, catgirls are cute

That webm of CC crying is the most forced animation of all time

This is womit inducing. The fact that she's ugly doesn't help

This. It's jarring when the character acts normal but then turns super animated just to look cute for one or two scenes. It needs to be like azumanga daioh where all the characters are spazy all the time but that's too much effort

Yeah, the whole point is that they're breathing in fumes that aren't toxic but apparently act as a strong stimulant and makes them all overactive and loopy, so the added motion makes sense as much as their big off-model single shots yelling at shit

Oh. I don't watch this gay shit for little japanese boys sorry. It still looks like shit.

I dont' know if I'd say forced but it's definitely dishonest

No. Problem with "forced animation" is anime has pushed the idea of "characters stand still and only their mouths are animated" as default so even something like actual facial animations creates an uncanny effect.

That one scene in Nanoha where they're at the dinner table and the animation quality takes a gigantic leap.

You can tell when they go all out.

Looks like rakugo to me. Much better than everything else in the thread.

This is actually great despite being a joke

Yes. At a certain point having too many moving parts, especially if they are quick and chaotic, becomes obnoxious to look at.
