The konosuba trace was in third place behind in first and a more cutesy pandora-pancho-shirt girl with the initial concept with a shitton of glare from the background (that I can't find the fucking image of) in second for weeks until the last 3 hours of the voting where the first two lost a ton of votes and the 'winner' got a spike in votes (while IRC logs had mods talking about how it was their favorite). Also the guy who traced the konosuba one apparently had his discord shill it for him, but I can't confirm on that claim.

One of the biggest problems with the artist is that they only have 2 faces: a round potato face that 90% of the cast have or an overly angular sharp lines everywhere face that characters like Reinhard, Julius, and Clind have. Another thing is that the character designs for women are usually really good, but the men are kinda bad and clothing design for men and women is retarded. Like what's up with those stupid tiny hats Beako and Roswaal have? And the monocles just look stupid too on the characters that have them. And often times the clothes people wear are way more extravagant then what is described in the WN. One of the biggest problems actually is that a lot of character designs don't really represent what was originally written in the WN. Like Regulus is described many times to look extremely bland and forgettable, but the LN art makes him stand out. Or Beatrice is described as looking like an ordinary 12 year old girl but is given butterfly pupils. Those bears in the desert are described as having roots and dirt cover and hang off their bodies while the LN just gives them flower camo. The worst is those dumb "shields" Garfiel gets. Ultimately the biggest problem is the artist isn't able to capture the right tone and emotions for the darker or dramatic scenes, and fanart by people like Harusabin and Owari fit many scenes much better
