i just did my first purchase (preorders) for the first time in years.... all together it's over $700 worth of stuff but it doesn't hurt so much as i don't have to pay upfront and it's gonna be spread out over the next year
been buyfagging since around june of last year. hasnt been a lot of figures i want to preorder, so mostly just been buying used figures i missed out on at inflated prices.

Bought my first figure five years ago. Not bought a whole lot since. A few prize figs, and a stupid knockoff Nendo because I didn't know any better at the time This year is when I really started getting the itch and the disposable income to start thinking about stepping up my game.

same, but my government has been good about giving me an income since i lost my job (canada) but i feel immoral spending the money on figures... i just can't bring myself to do it even though i could afford it. i went for a few preorders tho since i'm sure... i'll have a job by then.. haha... i hope

I don't. I was going to say yes I did, but the 2 I have on pre-order are based on characters in ero-manga. So even though they were never in an anime, they aren't OC figs.
Real question, how is that an OC? It's based on an old illustration, pretty much every character would fit that description.

Gotta confess user. I do. Specifically I collect the MHA line. It started with them being the only one to make a Best-Boy-Fatgum figure, and has kind of escalated from there. It was a way to get figures of the ridiculous cast of side characters that would otherwise be lucky to get a prize figure while the umpteenth Deku/Bakugo/Todoroki gets trotted out. Plus save my wallet and my shelf space from destruction at the same time. They are cheap garbage, but for the price point, they scratch an itch for me.
Mostly I don't mind the style (obviously, given I keep buying them because I like them, not just because of some weird stockholm syndrome or sunk cost fallacy), Except when they take a pinhead character like All might and blow his head up to the same size as everyone else. That shit Does Not Fucking Work.
