Best English Dubs

Sometimes they turn out excellent. Case in point: Holo.

the only good english dubs are the ones done by ocean studios like inuyasha, key the metal idol, the original dbz dub, and death note

americans can't dub anime for shit, its the same 10 people doing 100 roles and they all have 2 voices max so everyone sounds identical

Did we watch the same dub? English Holo sounds like a self-important bitch.
Koshimizu-san is so sweet in comparison.

Fuck you guys this one had a good cast and had heart to it, it wasn't even Funimation's fault about the changes. Jerry Jewell and Alison Viktorin are the best dub duo. Also now that there are both americanized and overly close to the script versions of this in America it shows the Americanized one can be better than when they both stay too close to the script and the actors are directed to emulate the original VAs 100%. I know Americanizing anime is retarded, but I felt they did good work despite it, and used being forced to do it to a couple strengths.

This was honestly one of the best Funimation works to listen to but I understand why everyone hates it, the main cast just gave it a really good quality for me. It always pissed me off it stopped immediately at the sign of plot, not just because it stopped being made but because I wanted to hear this cast doing plot related stories.

watch more dubbed anime, pleb

>inuyasha
I watched a dubbed episode of this randomly not too long ago and I thought it didn't sound that great. I don't get why its dub is so fondly discussed.

dubs are just inherently worse than the original language
this isn't debatable

Good thing this OP wasn't one of the ones saying "dubs that are better than the japanese"

>this isn't debatable
yes it is

Cowboy Bebop is the only good dub anime.

Anything with Chris Sabat and the girl who did Hondomachi have good dubs.

cuz it's probably peoples first anime and they saw it dubbed.

i genuinely prefer the english voices for Neptunia.

Drifters has a pretty good one. I think Toyohisa's VA does a great job. Actually everyone does. Maybe Olmine is spotty in like, one or two scenes, but solid overall.

British Holo does things to my dick

So was Ed from Bebop

Cromartie High is great

This show had a good dub.

That was a pretty solid dub. Haven't seen S2 though yet.

t. Watched dubs from one studio and assume that all dubs are the same shit but goes on to cream his pants when hearing the same voice again for the billionth time in the original audio.
Dubs generally stink but the voice acting industry has a bad case of reusing the same handful actors with the same two voices again and again all over.

No.

we'll never get a dub as good as this again

>reusing the same handful actors with the same two voices again and again all over

that's the biggest problem I think. the quality of the acting and voice direction for dubbed anime has gotten a lot better since 2000s but it's still the same small talent pool cast for every show.

you'd think with the rise of voiced video games there'd be a larger pool of voice actors to draw on, but english dubbed anime still seems to feature the same tiny group of actors who've been doing dubs for years.

It wasn't referring to dubs alone, it's dubs and subs with that or does no one remember the era where the idol seiyuu clique kept shilling insert girl here of choice in all the lead roles? HanaKana for example.

>the quality of the acting and voice direction for dubbed anime has gotten a lot better since 2000s
Not if Bang Zoom has anything to say about it.

That wasn't just a dub it's straight up an official abridged series.

That's because they literally hire people who audition at cons.

They seem to be the reason "battle shounen dub acting" is still a thing.
