This very likely isn't the same cycle as the one from the game, so the dragon not having the same voice isn't a big deal because he's not Grigori.

I've always wondered, the draagon takes your waifu away and murders her if you take his deal. What if you make the pawn the waidu? You can't ingame, but whats a dragon to do when your mindless footsoldier is the one he has to take down?

the Dark Arisen expansion tells the story of an Arisen that fell in love with his pawn, although his story ended up taking a different turn

The wiki is shit, I've been trying to get an explanation. All I know is that Daimon was like "no thanks" to Grigori, so the dragon threw a bitchfit and turned him into a demon and killed his waifu, which was apparently his pawn?

Some anons said waifuing your pawn is the ultiamte taboo for arisen or some shit so I wondered why. After all one beloved is literally a pawn turned human.

oh fuck, you're right. what the hell? makes me think they really wanted to make sure everyone understood this dragon isn't the same one as the game. I wonder what he will voice in he anime, though

Then he does it. This is what happens in Dark Arisen. Ashe's mentor Grette dies to her Seneschal, becomes the new Dragon, while her pawn, Olra, goes back to Ashe. Ashe is made Arisen by Grette and Olra is now his pawn. He defeats the Dragon, and upon discovering who it is, curses and swears to destroy everything. Grette takes this as his wish and kills Olra, turning Ashe into the Daimon.

I'm going into spoilers for Bitterblack and strongly recommend you play the game if you haven't but
Daimon, confronted by the choice, lacked the conviction to fight the Dragon but also didn't want to sacrifice his beloved to appease it. Enraged, the Dragon cursed the shit out of him and made him into a monster living forever on Bitterblack Isle.
"Don't waifu your pawn" is what a lot of people took away from this but that wasn't the issue; it was him rejecting the Dragon's Cycle. Him falling in love with his Pawn was coincidental.

Ashe was a pupil and adopted son of a woman Arisen, Grette. Grette had a pawn, Olra, and eventually they both went to face the dragon leaving Ashe behind, but only Olra returned. Eventually, another Dragon appeared and chose Ashe as the arisen, who then took Olra as his own pawn. Ashe fell in love with her, and eventually they went to face the Dragon. The Dragon took Olra as hostage and offered the choice to Ashe: challenge the Dragon or sacrifice his beloved. At that moment, Ashe realized that the Dragon was in fact his late mother Grette, who had defeated her Dragon but fell to the Senechal and was turned into the beast. Unable to choose between the lives of those two, he cursed the cycle, so the Dragon cursed him back turning him into Daimon.

The sight of women excites it!

Voice acting is pretty meh for the dragon and the CGI looks mediocre but the actual action seems alright.

Pretty sure this protag is the first Arisen, the guy that you play as at the very start of the game and that you face by the end of it

It's more likely that DD2 is already in production and this is either a way to drum up interest, or Capcom doing a general test to see how an anime would fair without risking a flagship like Street Fighter or Resident Evil.

he's just based on default male #1. the story of the anime doesn't seem to be the in the same time/universe as the game

Similar design because it was the default option in the character creator but its not Savan. His name is Ethan iirc. This is mostly disconnected from the game, theres a weird plot about fighting monsters that represent the 7 Deadly Sins, and losing your humanity.

Thats was probably changed, though my only "evidence" is that I think he looks pretty similar to the first arisen
