After an attack on the lives of Kenshin's close ones, and revelations about his past, the vengeful Jinchuu group attacks Kamiya Dojo. Kenshin incapacitates Kujiranami and defeats Gein's Iwanbo MkIII, but suffers injuries, while Sano defeats Inui and his improved gauntlets, but wrecks his hand in the process. With 3 enemies still at play, it falls on Yahiko to fight Otowa, the Shadow Instrument User... ...and something lurks in the darkness.
