What was his endgame?
What was his endgame?
tuxedo mask from sailor moon ripoff
Acting cool without doing anything
Well, he stole the medals and gave it to Dr. Aki, I guess? Really can't remember.
That's a trope, the "gentle thief".
He was the coolest guy. Shame the sequel did him and his robot buddy dirty.
Yeah, I really dunno how a franchise with such potential could be badly directed like this. I mean, it's just another mon series, but the charisma was great.
>this faggot basically caused a mini-apocalypse
Thanks man.
They could've just made direct sequel, but they instead opted for soft reboot for some unknown fucking reason.
The designs were somehow worse too.
What show was this again?
They never fully explained it. Was his fault?
Medabots/Medarot.
The sequel did a lot of characters dirty, like writing out Koji and Karin of all people. Especially since one of the shitty bots was blatantly a perfect Sumilodon upgrade
>They never fully explained it. Was his fault?
Yeah, basically agata hikaru wanted to win the robattle world championship so bad that his medabot tapped into the medaforce and somehow harmonized with all the medabots worldwide and revived their lost memories (which is that they're actually part of a lost long civilization of battled-crazed warriors) causing they 10 days of nightmare until hikaru kills his medabot. So he works for dr. aki to retrieve rare medals to make sure that shit never happens again.
The original title always sounds weird to me. Does 'Medarot' actually translate to anything, or is it a made-up word?
Meda(l) Ro(bo)t
Wait that sounds based as fuck. How come this failed?
Admit it, you liked the english dub.
>How come this failed?
>until hikaru kills his medabot
That's what happens in the original game, too? Always thought that the Metabee was the same medabot that Kikaru used, but looks like
isn't.
It's not the greatest story ever, but it's fine by me. How come they never explored the franchise, i will never understand it.
How hard did they butcher the show in the dub? Just started a rewatch this week and I don't remember it being this entertaining, I'm having a great time. Also I was expecting some kind of filter for Metabee's voice, it's really hard to not think about Naruto
Arcbeetle > Rokusho > Metabee
>That's what happens in the original game, too?
idk about the "original" games but in this one they explored the story about the medabot civilization pretty extensively. The 10 days of darkness thing was only in the anime. The anime basically has its own plot and doesn't follow the games at all.
>Always thought that the Metabee was the same medabot that Kikaru used, but looks like
isn't
It's never directly said but heavily implied in the anime that the KBT parts that Ikki uses for this metabee are the original parts that Hikaru used for this medabot, but not the same medal. Most people think that the medal inside arcbeetle is the original "metabee" that hikaru used.
woops forgot image for "this one"
Ah. That makes sense.
I don't know about the english version, but in my country the dub it's pretty decent and hilarious. A funfact: it's the same person who voices Goku.
They really should've brought the other games outside Japan. Looks like the story keeps going, saw something about Ikki becoming the next Phantom Renegade.
Guess the sales in US wasn't so good.
Most of the 'mon clones outside japan never saw much success unfortunately, except digimon. I was literally the only kid in school who bought the metabots collectible figures and the giant plastic stadium that you battle others in. But it was always just me battling me...
To have fun with medabots.
I loved those little figures when I was a kid.
Dude... battling was just rolling a shiny hexagonal dice though. It wasn't fun. Playing with them on your own without giving a shit about the rules was fun though.
Should I smoke weed before watching this?
You'rr kidding, eng dubbers knew what they were doing it's very good for its genre they obviously just had fun with it.
I watched the dub and enjoyed it but I wouldn't go back now it's fully subbed.
The voices are decent but there's plenty of the usual American meddling in the script. A few episodes are out of order which causes some minor continuity errors, too.
