Why is it that so many people got tricked into liking Toradora...

Why is it that so many people got tricked into liking Toradora? When anons called it the greatest love story ever told they were being ironic but over time people began to take it as fact. There are countless better romances than this. Ookami to Koushinryou was literally airing at the same time as Toradora and blows it away. Kimi ni Todoke was airing around the same time and again, blows Toradora out of the water.

I wouldn't even call Toradora mediocre. Watching it is an exercise of frustration.

>a mari okada show with a subpar romance plot\
Hard to imagine, I know.

This was the worst anime I watched from start to finish
All I remember is done guy dyed his hair blonde and was beaten by his dad

Im not even a slice of life type of fag but this was the best i ever watced. You autists are too socially disconnected to understand what a true romance masterpiece is

>I love him
>I love her
>Jeah good luck with that
>I love you
>But I don't love you as well
>I did love you 2 years ago though
>I love her instead
>I love you
>I can't love
>Could you love me instead?
>Do you even love me for real? You are always so vague
>But nonetheless I still love her i guess
>I love her
>I don't love him
>KANOU SUMIREEEEEE
>I lied, I love him nonetheless
>Aaaaand she's gone
>I love nobody now
>Wait now I love you, but ugh
>I can't love you, because she loves you
>And I can't love you, because she loves you
>I don't fucking know anymore
>Btw I love him, but he loves her I think
>B-But I love her?! It sucks that she loves him!
>Nobody cares you are sidecharacters
>Could you make her love you, so that he loves me?
>I said nobody cares!
>Are we in love now?
>I don't think so, still 5 more episodes to go
>I loved you for a long time by now
>2 episodes too late, I love her now I guess
>And now?
>Finally! We are in love
>How did we stretch this for 25 episodes?
>Aaaaand she's gone
This is considered good writing for anime standards.

I'll take this as greatest love story ever told over oreishit any day.

Not much happens until episode 16

This is the most accurate summary of Toradora I've ever read.

Cute anime girls

>tricked into liking

Now this is some next level cope.

And it's also the most accurate summary of teenage love life

If you want to see an accurate representation of teenage love life in anime watch Tsuki ga Kirei not Toradora.

wrong pic? where is tada banri

Golden Time is good unlike Toradora.

>Nobody cares you are sidecharacters
KEK

The screenwriter for the anime adaptation is responsible for the plot of the original LN.
Imbecile.

Clearly you faggots havent been in love and probably the edgy cringe kid in school,i pitty you both

>And it's also the most accurate summary of teenage love life
haruhi, eureka 7, nadia, I can think of a ton of examples that are "accurate" while also not being a boring as fuck romcom that drags everything out for drama obsessed middle age women like mari okada to jerk off over

I dropped this whenever her father came into the show.
Personally my favorite romance is either KareKano or ef: a tale of Memories.

Emotionally stunted, kek

I just hate how all the MC does is be there, he's a glorified punching bag, and Taiga is an awful person that never learns or change anything about her, but the real main problem of the show is being so boring.

why can't you simply accept that people with different tastes and interests MAY exist? Just move on user.

The problem is that the romcom crowd equates things "butterflies in the stomach", "blushing" and "awkward flirting" with "love story", whereas most other people don't. In reality, the things, captured by romcoms are just the "prequel" to the actual (life) story that will feature said actual romance. However, in toradora (and most other romcoms) this real story beings in the last few episodes. In most cases, you don't even see the characters acting like a couple after they've admitted they want to be together. For most people, everything before that point almost entirely irrelevant and would've been better served as short flashbacks or simply mentioned in passing. Of course, this leaves the question of filling the newly freed up screentime. But in these types of shows, nothing else really happens. So, the answer is simple - don't watch romcoms if you expect actual romance, cause they don't fucking have any. Romcoms are about not about love, but about the journeys of retards seeking love. About awkward experiences, stuttering, blushing and messing around. And stop making the same fucking thread over and over you autistic fucks.

>gets put on netflix
>Zig Forums is inundated with threads about it
Bunch of fucking newfaggots who never heard of toradora until it was kn their normie streaming service. Pathetic

>normie

It's an autism thing. They have trouble with the idea that their tastes don't represent an objective truth.

>Why is it that so many people got tricked into liking Toradora?

Shippers don't really have very high standards, but they want their checklist to be filled, so as long as you give them that, they'll eat up any trash you throw at them.

lmao, no

What you're really saying is that you can't deal with a romance story where the main girl and the main guy have more than literally only each other as romantic prospects.

Kimi ni Todoke is pure shit

You must understand that for those that say so the quality of a “love story” is purely a function of:
- How much do I like the female lead's looks?
- How easily can I self-insert into the male lead?

It's a bad story, Ryuuzi is an uninteresting character that was gutted for the t.v. adaptation to make him even more of a self-insert. This is a series that features Taiga on every single cover but doesn't feature Ryuuzi anywhere on them... what do you think the target demographic is?

It's not a “story”; it's a way to make lonely virgins feel less lonely.
