Vending machine business

What are your thoughts on a vending machine side hustle? I don't want to do just snacks though. I'm thinking trinkets and toys, cell phone accessories, chargers or weird shit like MLP panties for men. You know something that makes you go WTF, japanese style. Products that give higher margins. Is this an epic fail idea? A non refrigerated unit is pretty cheap in the 1k range. I just don't know how i'm going to sell such a non traditional idea to the business owner locations.

Thanks for the bump at least

Bump

It sounds kinda cool, but where would you put the machines and how would you get the needed startup?

Way too much work and liability

I already have an LLC. You just don't sell sketchy products. You avoid Alibaba chinese knock-offs and stick with real brands.

He means niggers will destroy your venture

Just start with 1 machine and hit a bunch of locations. Make a legitimate brochure of the products I would stock. Dunno, i'm in the dark here. No experience in vending. I have experience in sales and people like to throw money at weird stuff.

Thankfully I live in almost the least niggery country in the world.

Found the jew.

Seems worth a shot then. I mean you would only loose out on the cost of the one machine and one round of products if it goes bust.

This isnt the 90s mate, you are on a board dominated by cryptos. Maybe that will give you a clue where the money is

The rare time someone wants to talk non crypto and you get bullshit replies like this. Of course theres more money in crypto. You want me to go to Zig Forums? I'd probably get better dialogue there.

Finding a location is harder than you might think. All the best spots already have vending machines. I am about to liquidate my machine. Never found a spot for it.

My company has a contract with a distro/supplier that fills the machines with misc/consumables/safety equip and employees use their ID to access equipment. Made things interesting for the back end. Seem like an ok idea, easy to close contracts on with a variable niche

>cigarettes machine in a bar

Was it a snack machine and how seriously did you take it? How many businesses did you try to contact before giving up?

Work break rooms where people buy lunch and shit

I feel like vending machines are the type of thing you buy a bunch of and then you run a business managing the lot or you already own retail space through a successful business and you use the vending machine to fill empty retail space. Same goes for ATMS. I just can't imagine one vending machine being worth the hassle unless you are always nearby. I wish I was wrong.

it will take you forever to sell the useless junk in it. if people wanted some useless 5$ garbage they would order it directly to their house for 80% the cost

Hey guys I have a genius plan!

We should buy a bunch of solar powered vending machines and leave them on trails with bug dope, beer, and joints! Am I a head of the curb or what

Get a good location first then buy the machine. You have to give a percentage to owner in exchange for him letting you use the location.

It’s very easy. Just stock up and collect cash usually only once a week. Mark up is huge and once machines pay itself off you got a good cash flow situation.

Curve retard

Wiat are you telling me its putting my head on a curv? What even is a curv you put your head on the curb. Also, a box of poptarts is like $59 bucks and 72 total poptart packages. 72 * 1.50 = ????

>japanese style
Best you'll get is a photo collection of zoomers posing near the machine without buying jack shit so unless you ask money for a photo then yeah tough luck your vending machine is worthless

fpbp

Let me extrapolate. If there are niggers where the vending machines are it is a no go. They will destroy it.

This is 2020
Vending machines are old tech
Automated microshops are the new hotness
Basically whatever is the current trend in downtown Shenzhen is going to make money in America 5 years from now.
Small retail space with totally automated services (machines dispensing goods or food) which you can pay with using mobile payment or from your crypto wallet
Amazon is already starting to roll similar things out in the USA, with totally automated stores that you scan your Amazon ID at the entrance and have anything you take out with you automatically deducted from your account.
A store on that scale is not feasible for a small business, but the concept can be scaled down.
What in essence begins as a 1960s foodmat where people grab a pre-made meal or snacks and leave can evolve into something akin to an automatic 7/11 with cooked food made to order and a wide variety of options.

See you fail to understand the whimsical buyer. I've sold at flea markets i'm familiar with low cost trinkets. Some people will just have no idea they want to buy something until they see it and if it makes them smile for a couple $ they will do it. Theres a hipster girl in Portland that puts hipster trash in vending machines at bars and grosses 80k from 15 machines. Obviously this is a very specific market.
