Cliches you actually like

>its the final battle.
>the protagonist and antagonist have used up every power up, transformation, secret technique, ultimate weapon and general ass-pull they have.
>it all comes down to a knock down drag out fist fight that looks more like 2 drunks brawling in a parking lot than the fight that will determine the fate of the world

Came to post exactly this before reading the OP.

>two protagonist
>the final battle is between them
peak kino

I'm not a huge fan of the show on the whole, but S-cry-ed's final fight really has some great sequencing. It truly feels like they just have nothing left in the tank.

>Normalfag fighter styles on magical opponents.
Genjuro from Symphogear being the best example given he straight up blocked Tsubasa's sword from hitting Hibiki by deflecting it with a punch.

>A hitman kills the antagonist after he has used all his power

This looks fucking stupid as shit and i love it
I'm going to list a few of my favorites
>Cowardly Side character gets inspired by the protagonist and becomes brave, even willing to sacrifice their own lives
>Extremely Dumb Brawler is revealed to have a heart of Gold
>Villain from the first arc of the series is revealed to actually have been more of an anti-hero
>Hero refuses to kill It's pretty rare in the east outside of Trigun
>Villain of the arc has a change of heart, still gets killed by the heroes

He's a monster.

>>Villain of the arc has a change of heart, still gets killed by the heroes
Can you list a few examples? I actually can't think of any of the top of my head. Unless it's the "I see your way is right now" in their dying breath.

Scryed time.

Hunter x Hunter. I like the way the show actually execute on some great tropes. Shit most of that list is from Hunter x Hunter really. I guess it's wrong to call Netero a protagonist though. youtube.com/watch?v=eih61oTcoTQ

>mc gets his ass whooped to hell and back
>still fights no matter what is thrown at him because losing isnt an option

>This looks fucking stupid as shit and i love it
Everything about Symphogear is fucking stupid and it's one of the greatest series ever made.

>Mecha anime
>Sword/Energy blade perfectly cuts an enemy mech in two
>Explodes a second later
Always kino

Tsunderes, out of all the cliches of girls in anime it is the one that bothers me the least, and can even work great in some cases

> Old master does something jaw-droppingly awesome
> Oh, my back, I'm not a spring chicken anymore, I'm barely half as good as my prime

car clone jutsu

>Series starts off with small, personal stakes
>Ends with the protagonist fighting for the fate of the universe
Never gets old

Fuck off and die please.

Come on man, isn't it cool? Sometimes I just want something cool to watch.

I'm not going to say it can't be done well but i can't even think of one example where it is actually done well.

> That one awkward character from the start gets backed into a corner
> manages to beat the hell out of the enemies

even better
> reveals he's the true enemy all along

>protagonist about to be hit with a fatal blow
>closes his eyes before it hits him
>darkness
>SCHING
>someone jumped in front of him and blocked the swing (they didn't take it for him with their body)
>say something cool like "sorry for being late"
This is my favorite but I genuinely can't name a series where it happens from the top of my head

I fucking love this trope, but I never actually see it that often

Early villain teaming up with MC to defeat true villian. I'll never get tired of that cliche and I'm a bit disappointed when it doesn't happen in an action series.

This happens in literally every single shonen manga/anime in existence

Does it happen in any real series though

>hero and his crew are launching an assault on the enemy base.
>as they move through the base mini-bosses show up to stop them
>a member of the hero's crew volunteers to stay behind and fight the mini-boss so the rest of the team can keep moving forward.
>rinse and repeat until the main character is the only one left and makes it alone to the final bosses room.

>MC is absent/out of action
>loser/normal side character randomly encounters the main villain
>side character is unexpectedly difficult to put down for the villain and puts up a decent fight using nothing but his wits

Bonus points:
>side character actually fucking beats the main villain

I fucking cum buckets when this shit happens

TTGL, especially given the symbolic significance of the Anti-Spiral

>MC has absolutely fucking nothing to lose at this point in the story
>Villain does something life-threatening like swing a sword at him
>MC doesn't give a fuck, tanks the stab wound, and keeps attacking him anyway
>Villain is pants-shittingly terrified at the look in the MC's eye
I FUCKING LOVE WHEN THIS HAPPENS FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

Bleach did a good execution of this, the one I can think on top of my head is when Ichigo saves Rukia from the execution but there's probably more

Escanor is pretty much that
Aizen too
Many character in detective Conan do that
Boomer in HxH

name a manga where a side character beats any main vilain

The only one I can think of is the adventure of Dai where both Pop and Hunkyel had to beat a main vilain when Dai wasn't here or getting his ass kicked

Villain or "Bad Guy" actually gets away with it, and the manga/anime explores the ramifications of their actions in the story instead of a "save the day"

Think Griffith, Eren, Kaiki, and hopefully Shigaraki from My Hero

He forgot about the Chad Kenny saving the Virgin Ichigo from Nnoitora and then kicking him 30 feet away so he isn't in the middle of the real fight
I don't even care if that was an asspull, it was fucking great

Tsunderes are works of art.

final episode
>no op in the beginning
>final battle it's on: OP START PLAYING
>mc wins

it never fails for me

I like more toned down tsunderes because they're not ridiculous caricatures. Instead of being psychos that physically attack you when they're flustered they instead just downplay their emotional investment in you with insults or embarrassed deflections. I like these types because I've dealt with people like this IRL

Bonus points if they are both shirtless.
