Embarassing. Go read 20th Century Boys. It does the "pop culture in a post-apocalyptic world" thing so much better it's not even funny (on top of everything else). It's rock instead of cinema though.
Not them but Onani Master Kurosawa or Shin Angyo Onshi. My favorite shonen is either Magi or Shingeki no Kyojin.
