MC is far and away the most complex and developed character in their series

>MC is far and away the most complex and developed character in their series
Why is this so rare?

Why would you make this thread when you know retards will never read the source material to even begin to understand the characters. The anime does a shit job of conveying the inner thoughts and monologues.

He's great. Don't think there's been such a well written character in a good while.

Too emotional recently, boohoo I couldn’t tell anyone about my power.

Subaru being so fleshed out is great but it's even more ridiculous when he's directly compared to the half-elf shaped black hole of a character that is Emilia. Tappei himself has commented that he's trying to do something very specific with her character, but goddamn is she boring. She's getting a little better in the latest arc in the WN/LN, but too little, too late imo

To each their own. Way too much bitching.

I bed you laugh at a 14 year old not getting in a war machine his dad told him to probably die

Agreed, but nonetheless this was a really well-directed and acted scene.

Best isekai protag by far

I don't really know why you agree with him about him being 'too emotional', look at the shit he's fucking going through. He was literally just fucking eaten alive and now he finally gets to truly confide in someone about the horrific experiences he's been having for the first time ever.
Why do people say he's overemotional? It makes zero fucking sense.

stop posting bootleg touma

Probably because I don't remember a single episode where he doesn't have an emotional breakdown.

this is your brain on shounenshit, everyone
try punching harder, right?

We'll see.

>touma
>the most uncomplex character that everyone dickrides anyways
Index has incredible worldbuilding and character and power design (Mikoto) and then ruined it with Touma and his harem adventure.
You unironically hate to see it

How do you expect a regular Japanese teenager handle what Subaru is going through?

>Probably because I don't remember a single episode where he doesn't have an emotional breakdown.
Try to think about what exactly he goes through user. Get those brain cells going. Anyway, if you really can't deal with the sight of somebody reacting appropriately to being gored to death in various wonderfully horrible ways, or seeing their friends die horribly over and over again, then rejoice! Subaru rapidly stops giving a shit over the course of this arc as he gets used to it. (which in itself is absolutely bonkers to think about, when you consider just how painful and horrible dying is) By Arc 5 he's old hat at this Return By Death stuff. Also you'll get a lot more action. Call it a hunch but I imagine that's what you're here for

Then cry about the pain not about your secret.
He wasn’t crying about the rabbits eating hm.

I just hate how Emillia simply VANISHES from the story like it's happening right now. How can the audience have any liking to her when she's barely on screen and when she is, she's completely useless. I thought she was a powerhouse being able to easily freeze everyone to death but she's done nothing

Just give us more Ram and Echidna

Subaru is the best written character of the last decade, prove me wrong.

what I hate about sloth IF is that subaru becomes so fucking boring
does that happen when you get married?

>complex
He isn't complex. He's loyal, lonely, self-sacrificing. Just because he goes through different flavors of torture and suffering doesn't make him complex.
The only thing about him that makes no sense is his love for Emilia. It stands out in a more conspicuous way than anything else in the series, even his RbD.

>He wasn’t crying about the rabbits eating hm.
Hello speedwatcher. There was a literal in-story reason given, it was the first fucking thing Echidna said to him. She said that the Sloth Witch Factor in his body was keeping him mentally stable and stopping him from completely falling apart because of the rabbit death. He subsequently broke down (mostly out of relief and shock) because he could tell absolutely nobody about the horrible shit he was going through, couldn't confide in anyone about it. He tried it once and it literally killed Emilia. To see Echidna sit there, unscathed, listening to him say "Return by Death", of course it would have a huge effect on him. Why wouldn't it? This is an issue he's had from the very fucking start of the series. Why wouldn't the dam come loose as soon as that emotional load was lifted from him?
Shows like Re:Zero really bring the more dense anons out of the woodworks, huh?

>I just hate how Emillia simply VANISHES from the story like it's happening right now.
This happened in season one as well. I thought she was the director's waifu? She has a whole movie dry-humping her and yet somehow she still has such little development compared to her competitors.

>mindbroken by rabbits
>completely fine in echidona tea party
>even bothering to discuss mental health and suffering in a show with magic to cure ptsd
the author knows it too. the suffering he deals with is inhuman and it would be inhuman to have the capacity to keep going. is it the curse from satella that keeps him going? is he the most resolute person that has ever lived? seriously its ridiculous

He’s only fine in the tea party because Dona stabilized him with the body fluids he drank in the past.

>the suffering he deals with is inhuman and it would be inhuman to have the capacity to keep going. is it the curse from satella that keeps him going? is he the most resolute person that has ever lived? seriously its ridiculous
You are correct, user. The amount of shit Subaru goes through is fucking bonkers. It is legitimately impressive that he's as sane as he is, and isn't undergoing absolutely massive, crippling depression, PTSD, anxiety and paranoia. Therefore, it's hilarious to me that anons here are complaining that he's TOO emotional. Fucking what? lol if anything Subaru isn't emotional enough. If this series was truly realistic to the point where the story itself would suffer, Subaru would be out of commission for good by now, completely mindbroken.
It's discussed several times later on in the story, and Tappei himself said that Re:Zero is a story about a guy whose only weapon is not giving up.
He's inhumanly stubborn

>is it the curse from satella that keeps him going?
No, it's the love-loyalty for his friends. If Rem didn't confess to him he would have collapsed long ago. If Otto didn't remind him good existed in the world he might have killed Garf later. Subaru isn't perfect but he was treated like shit for most of the series and was underappreciated because memory of his sacrifices were lost to the time loops.
Arc 6 is the opposite where the other characters are starting to realize how much they relied on him.

Can't believe how retarded zero fags are, worse than wan piss-tier shonenshitters. Subaru is a shit character surrounded by equally shit characters in a story that fails to be meaningful to anyone who isn't a 16yo weeb with mildly low self-esteem. It's nothing more than shallow shock value, forced pity sessions and waifu pandering wish-fulfillment. That's all it has. See ya retards, hopefully one day you'll realise instead of pretending this crap is good, let alone makes sense. Re:HYPE! Bros, i'm literally shaking in this scene, poor little subaru!

Cringe

>does that happen when you get married?
yeah, usually

>does that happen when you get married?
Sometimes it does. Depends on your definition of 'boring' to be honest

It was a decision she made before they ran away, hardly this absolute bullshit you are trying to peddle
>but Rem knows she let Subaru abandon himself and Emilia and grows her hair long to try and look like the dead girl she thinks Subaru still loves.
