watched 5 episodes, and its reletavly boring 5/10 so far. Also found the animation to be worse than ever with softening and bloom filters being over used. Lots of talking, nothing really eventful happening so the pacing is poor.

It's the longest arc so far, you've essentially got through the setup for the next 19 episodes. The bunnies have just aired, so things are on the up from here; they even forceably inserted a DBZ fight in the LN so if you're just after ebin dopamine then you'll get it later. If you're after torment, the witches tea party is basically next so there's that.
If you're not enjoying yourself, stop watching it, and spend your valuable free time doing something you do enjoy.

As for OP , do not worry, this was just the groundwork of the current arc. 4, which is this one, is longer than the 1/2/3 that composed the first season, which is why the groundwork was a much longer set of episodes than for those.

Hey, same user from yesterday who made the Constellation Map thing for no real reason. One thing led to another but now I'm working on a rough map of the continent right now, and in essence everything in canon matches the description of real places if you just flip Eurasia and connect a few island nations

The literal only thing I'm iffy on is if Preistella is supposed to be Venice (matches the description beter but fucks with the nation sizes and travel times, making Picoutatte = Berlin) or Sevastapol / Istanbul (better geographical fit, Venice in turn would be Picoutatte)

You certainly have a point fa/tg/uy. The geography of a land acts as a key storytelling arrow in the authors quiver. The rivers and mountains are the storytelling equivalent of palm reading, kingdoms with grassy plains are prosperous, people in the mountains are hardy from the daily struggles and the nomads in the desert will fight to keep hold of what little they have. Tappei when he started writing the Re:Zero WN was an amateur, he fell for the North/East/South/West kingdom pitfall and gave them generic season based identities. However, I like to think that as he grew as an author he has attempted to make the best out of a bad situation, fleshing out the world building with character based side stories.

As far as I'm aware, there's no mention of anything in canon suggesting other inland lakes do not exist; and the concept of an sea/ocean would be alien to a literal flat world where the water falls off the sides. Opposing that however, there are multiple large bodies of wetland and lakes, most adressed as 'a' lake (implying there's more of at least equal size), not 'the' lake (which would imply there's only one of that size).
Adding to that on top, given every single location in canon is referential in at least descrpition to a location on the map, which furthermore gives basis to general locations of area on the map; even if all the lakes and oceans were filled in.
I don't know of any map-making tools that would have made or but if I did, I'd probably make it a bit prettier than just blovks of colour.
