It's a crime Kaiji never got fully animated or even a re-release of the first season in better quality. I've been working on a Kaiji S1 upscale for the longest time now , this show looks so great when it isnt blurry and 480p

Washizu was basically the entire fucking Akagi manga and it was absolutely brilliant.

Kaiji was not that popular at all i the first place. Also so much time has passed that i don't fucking believe they would do that.

in fact, as much as I loved the bog arc, if you compare the two, the bog is not nearly as good, it's just kaiji sitting here and watching balls move. Yet the anime was made and everybody loved it.

I love Kaiji, but normalfags who watch anime have some weird inferiority complex where they need to watch "manly" anime or "cool" anime, and Kaiji fills that criteria. I sometimes look at what people say about it and it's clear most people don't understand it at all and think that stakes = good.

I like the tonegawa side story despite it being more like a slice of life compared to the Kaiji story.

Eh, I'm not so sure. I think Kaiji is rather well known now. Obviously just an anecdote but the manga is always sold out at my local bookstore.

If you really want to go all the way , Nyaa is a good starter if you know exactly what you're looking for. Theres others like horriblesubs, erairaws, Shanaproject etc.
