Haven't read any of the Akira Himekawa ones (only the Link's Awakening one from the early 90's) but his style really suits Zelda in a manga format perfectly. It would be nice to get an anime with this style someday but I find it really unlikely. I really don't know why either, a Zelda anime sounds incredible.

If they ever make a Zelda OAV/series, I would prefer if this was an original plot rather than adapting one of the game or one of the manga adaptations. Take advantage of this medium to make something that wouldn't necessarily translate well into fun game mechanics instead of doing very awkward "the bomb goes there" puzzles into animation.
