>"I wonder if a person over the age of twenty who likes robot anime is really happy. He could find greater happiness elsewhere. Regrettably, I have my doubts about his happiness."
>"I think the people who are very much involved with the internet," Mr. Anno said, "have very narrow views toward life and the world. They're always in their rooms and don't go out very often to communicate in person. Because of their information on the internet, they feel they know everything without searching the real truths." They easily and anonymously say things that they would never say in person. "Their messages are like graffiti in a public toilet." They attack other while they are staying in a safe place. "They don't have anything certain to hold on... that's probably why they watch anime shows. I would like to add and say to those fans, hey, go out and visit towns. I am 35 now and I am realizing the importance of human contact little by little..."
Coming from the greasy old man who girls fled from by his own account because he smelled so bad. That's without addressing his weird fixation on Noriko Hidaka and him basing off Noriko from Gunbuster and Misato after her.
>I am 35 now and I am realizing the importance of human contact little by little... The whole thing feels like him talking about himself. Basically warning people to not make his mistakes. So attacking his message saying he likes tokusatsu or that he is weird only reinforces his point.

>"I wonder if a person over the age of twenty who likes robot anime is really happy. He could find greater happiness elsewhere. Regrettably, I have my doubts about his happiness." You do realize he's talking about himself, correct?
Hudson Cruz
He has a point though. You can like anything you like at any age, he is a faggot for criticizing people for like Anime when he makes the shit. That is like dealing Heroin but telling people drugs are bad.
I agree with his point about the internet, I spent most of my life indoors on my pc but now once I hit 25 I have spent the last few years trying to spend as much time outdoors. I mostly do it on my own though, I like to go hiking with my dog and sit in the middle of nowhere. I will never be a people person, people like me and I can socialize easily but I prefer not too. I have never been lonely.
Dominic Thomas
What's with this weird obsession with being happy? Who gives a shit?

People covet what they don't have.

Happiness is determined almost completely by the physical health of an individual. People who are not happy probably spend more time watching anime because it is a decent substitute for real friendship, love, conflict, experience and work. Studies have shown that watching an act being performed on the television has an effect similar to training, with an efficacy comparable to actually engaging in that same action oneself irl. There's no solution to having no place in society, and certainly no certainty of happiness for those who are lucky enough to fit in. Whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you.. stranger.
Anno: Fan criticism? In my opinion, most of them are just slander. They did not understand the work or even themselves. So they can only talk about superficial and methodological things. Just talk, but they still lack self-knowledge. Unable to understand the world and self objectively. These people actively want to contact the outside world, and they are within the range where they will never be harmed. So they will speak out their opinions out loud.
Anno: People who are bleeding and immersed in creation have a higher synchronization rate with "EVA". The people who idle and do nothing every day are really already...they are the so-called otaku, who only value their own world. It is futile to say to these people "Look at the outside world!" If you have contact with the world, you will no longer be an otaku, so they are firmly in their own world. They are just like intellectuals, binding the world they know to within the scope that they can understand. They don't need to know or agree with other things. Because those things have nothing to do with them.
So for example, the twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth chapters of "EVA". Some people say that these two episodes imitated Mr. Oshii's "Talking Head". That's because in the world he knew, the only thing that resembled those two episodes was the work of Mr. Oshii. But the similarities are actually only part of the superficial methodology. They can only recognize this level. Really helpless. I obviously never watched that movie (laugh).
Reminder that happiness is illusory and ultimately a spook.

based as fuck

Most people should've learned by now that true happiness is a thing they probably won't get to experience for very long. Anno should've realized this decades ago, that fart sniffing faggot.

This is hard to deny, but it's also true that the greatest human truths are realized not in the company of others, but through subjective thought which demands high degrees of solitude. Though I don't know how many of the people that engage in that are also anime fans.
Leo Wilson
so this is the bug man ive been hearing so much about
Brody James
Is it supposed to be a profound statement that people who are deep into anime culture are probably depressed? Fucking kek, nice one Anno.
For a second I thought her hair bun was a second hat she had on.
Camden Diaz
Isekai is the new mecha, so it applies to you fags too
Austin Gomez
Mecha is a dead genre anyway. It was killed by capeshit, just like kaiju was killed by capeshit.
John Turner
Thats funny, because Anno was never single for long so...
Do I hear him or the betas on Zig Forums?? Hummm
Logan Long
what about people who do both? Not everyone either hates anime and goes out, or loves anime and is a hikikimori. Anno may have made evangelion but he's an idiot.
Jeremiah Smith
>Anno was never single for long The fuck does he have to be sad about then
Ryan Jones
Irrelevant distinction to make here, If you aren't a hikikomori you shouldn't be on Zig Forums.
Jason Jackson
>"I wonder if a person over the age of twenty who likes robot anime is really happy. He could find greater happiness elsewhere. Regrettably, I have my doubts about his happiness." What the fuck is this dumb pseud even talking about? Why would liking mecha anime be mutually exclusive with other kinds of happiness?
John Jackson
He just sounds like he's regretting his own life choices and assuming the rest should feel the same as him.
