Fun fact: Hamtaro actually is not a Video Game Character. He originated from a manga/anime series. Lots of people know Hamtaro, but only because of his video games

Anyone here old enough to have heard of this show?

>old enough to have heard of this show?
user it aired in 2000, that's not that long ago you damn moron.

Hamtaro was very popular show among kids in my country. When I was young most people in my school know Hamtaro. This reminds me of the viral story in my country about a guy asking is it that strange that his gf humming Hamtaro theme song when they have sex.

20 years ago is a long time, most people here won't touch anything older then 5 years, let alone 10.

Does he still get games or something?
I remember talking about it in Gradeschool, its old user.
I can't remember what I was trying to watch when I had to sit through Hamtaro though, it might have been Zoids Chaotic Century.

>Anyone here old enough to have heard of this show?
I used to watch it with my sister. I remember it was fun. Pic related was my favorite.

I used to watch and dance to the ending credits as a kid

Laura & Kana.

>Hamtaro actually is not a Video Game Character.
I'm pretty sure he is way more popular as a anime character than a videogame character.
I would believe something like people beliving that SEGA created Miku, but the Hamtaro anime was popular enough to be remembered.

The games were more remembered.

Hamtoro had games?

It bothered me how they made their heads bigger and bigger. They were cuter before.

Modern newfags were barely born then, if even that.

I didn't know there is a videogame. I used to watch the anime on tv.

Wow I didn't realize people didn't know about the anime, or the games. I always loved both.
Ham-Ham Heartbreak is legitimately a great game, everyone should check it out. It's made by AlphaDream, the studio behind the Mario & Luigi games. They recently closed down tho, RIP.

Thats Rainbow Rescue, Ham-Ham Heartbreak is from Pax Softnica.

Hamtaro: Ham-Hams Unite is the best game.

>Lots of people know Hamtaro, but only because of his video games
Really? I thought it was the other way around. Anyway, I loved the show as a kid. I would get comfy and watch it before school without a single worry in the world. Fuck, those were the days.

Except for maybe Pokemon, they don't have mainstream cute animal series anymore, do they?

Do you people only know of mobile gacha games? Because the Hamtaro games were pretty big back in their day.

>He originated from a manga/anime series.
It's pretty debatable if Hamtaro was even a manga. It's more akin to a children's storybook than a comic, so I've seen it classified as both.

Most people just call it a manga, especially later on in the book's run where it's panels resemble more of that to a manga.

The exact opposite is true. Toonami ensured that the show was known in relevant land (USA), the games are cult classics at most.

Wait. There's video games? I used to watch the show every morning before going to college

What the fuck are you on about? I watched Hamtaro every day before school on Cartoon Network.

I remember watching it on Cartoon Network, I never knew it was anime until much later

IIRC there were three manga published (in English) by Viz Media. The page you posted comes from the second manga, and if you take a look at the entire thing as well as the first manga they do resemble something more of a children's story. The third manga (pic related) does resemble more of that to a manga but all three have elements of a manga desu. I take it there was Western influence involved.

If anything by Zig Forums's words the show is a cult classic at best while the games ensured that the IP was kept relevant outside of Japan.
