>one piece
>soft seinen
the show where every conflict is solved by the mc punching the bad guy is soft seinen. kay bud.

>soft seinen
>hard shounen
what does this shit even mean?

Imagine thinking grown adult actively try to overcompensate for their childish taste by pretending to elevate the works they read to that of true seinen, which is also destined to young adults either way. Accept that you are reading manga for teenagers, there is nothing wrong with the fact. The presupposition that you have to belong to a certain demographic to enjoy shonen manga is dumb, just read it and stop coping

I choose... Kino...

>Hard shounen
Shounenshit tier stories that are published on seinen magazines, such as Tokyo ghoul, Berserk, One Punch Man, Gantz

>Soft Seinen
A manga published on shounen magazines by mistake, it has mature themes that have a complex plot which often serves as a commentary on contemporary society which easily goes over the head of the young demographics of shounenshitters, things like HxH, Devilman, Ashita no Joe.

THOSE TERMS DONT MEAN WHAT YOU THINK THEY MEAN NIGGA
SHONEN=YOUNG ADOLESCENT
SEINEN=YOUNG ADULT/OLDER ADOLESCENT
SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU MONKEY
correct. I read children's comics. Accept it

>hard shounen
just a battle shonen but more violent and sexual
>soft seinen
a battle shonen that is less focused on battle and more human elements and deeper themes

One Piece has been soft seinen since Marineford and WCI, you would know that if you actually read it.

It's time for us to define Soft Seinen, the earliest definitions from the archives explicate Soft Seinen as: " A shounen manga that transcended it's shounen nature into seinen territory"

In where we recognize the "Seinen territory" as a place of experiment ability and the "shounen territory" as territory of the pedantic, one which confines itself to the formula of "success" of WSJ, that's is the standards that which manga must comply to be seriliazed on WSJ.

Soft Seinen is then not necessarily a breaking from those moods and standards, neither a desconstruction but rather a reconstruction over those molds and standards.

Thus we conclude that for a work to be considered Soft Seinen it needs to be:
1. Have it's framework composed of traditional WSJ elements
2. Spin them to their own accord and reshape the reader's view of that standard
3. Be experimental while still maintaining the reader interested

>he doesn't read it and so doesn't know that there are several times where the bad guy just isn't defeated at all despite the attempts to beat them

The phrase soft seinen should be filtered to something else. The question is what. Kodomo?

I prefer

You know the thing with soft seinen is it's supposed to have mature themes and the like. CSM is nothing of the sort. It's just a kuhrazy battle shounen.
Might as well toss Naruto and Bleach in there as well.

"I love sucking nigger cocks"

Those are just meme

I'm glad you asked, i present to you: Gon Freecs, the anti-goku.
"The anti-goku what do you mean?"

There is no doubt that Togashi took inspiration from the most popular battle shounen Dragon Ball when making HunterxHunter, but unlike Dragon Ball, Togashi stated on his interviews that he wanted to at the same time educate it's younger readers to be more "disciplined" and "educated".
For that reason, Gon is put at first as very simple minded MC very similar to Goku, he's a "takes what he wants" type of guy, however as the story progresses we get subtle hints at how Gon's personality is inherently destructive to himself, many of the people he meets along is journey warn him of his ideology.
It takes around until the Chimera Ant arc that we see Gon's ideology pushed to the extreme, as in this arc Gon's mentor Kite is captured by a enemy Chimera Ant Neferpitou, Gon like any other person sets on his mind that he must save his mentor, however as he is stalled more and more to accomplish such task he's mind start to deteriorate with guilt.
This culminates into the encounter with Neferpitou where he tricks Gon into complying with his terms and only to trick him and reveal that his mentor is dead all along, Gon unable to cope with defeat starts to wade into despair and makes a nen vow to acquire enough power to exact his revenge on Neferpitou, the cost of vow however is disastrous and effectively ends our young protagonist career as a Hunter, in short he sacrifices his dreams for petty revenge.
This is what makes Gon, the anti-goku, Togashi saw how Goku's personality is a bad example for children and creates Gon as a response showing how someone with Goku's personality would fare in the real world.
Gon is ultimately a character that teaches that we can't have everything we want and we must sometimes compromise to keep our dreams alive.

There is no such think as soft seinen, OP is shitposter. Demographics don't mean anything.

examples?

The denomination "soft seinen" always amuses me. What lies at the very core of that term? Fear of calling something for its name. You cannot accept that what you read is childish, but, at the same time, you are afraid of comparing it to true seinen. So you put it in a category of its own. Seinen, but dumber. Seinen, but for children. The very definition itself seems like a mockery of the work it describes. Seinen, but more intellectually digestible that truly deep works? So it's the Fifty Shades of Grey of the seinen demographic? An interesting dichotomy.

This is the correct one

Seinen is a demographic, not a genre, you fucking idiot.

Is hunter x hunter worth the first few arcs of boring generic trash to get to these good parts that everyone supposedly loves?

Because you don’t want to mess up with HxHtarrd shitposters. God who’s know what he will come up with new ways of shitposting.

I see this is the dedicated shitpost thread

this bait would be actually believable if you just took out the third column and removed Naruto from the category that says the main character is "nice" and "humble"

It's a forced meme created by Hunterfags who can not except that HXH is a shonen.

Hunter x is Shonen you Hunterfags retard

correct, it' soft seinen.

hxh is shounen.

>No it's soft seinen
It starts being soft seinen form chapter 391 dumb idiot

Haha humanity bad am I right

Fuck off Berserkspic. No one likes your baby's first seinen.
It started serialization in a shounen magazine. The story was already planned out. The only thing that changed when it moved magazine was that Araki included some explicit scenes, but we all know that gore and sex isn't what defines something as shounen or seinen, it's the storytelling, and the storytelling in SBR is that of a shounens.

No, it's soft seinen.

Attached: 1572115508832.jpg (2005x1243, 1.09M)

no it's not huntertard it's actually good enough to he published in a actual seinen magazine

at what point do the phrases "Soft Seinen" and "Hunterchads" become irrelevant copypasta memes that mods can warn you for
I got warned yesterday for posting a screenshot in a screenshot thread of a character kneeling and daring to add the "I kneel" joke in my post, but people saying the same faggot phrases over and over again that mean nothing just to troll isn't considered shitposting?
Soft seinin more like goddamn my dick is fucking soft because the amount of retardation reading all your posts has inflicted on me made me impotent

Yes.
